Pick your starting line up and captain. I will start by saying all the older players and has beens 'golden generation' players who have had their chance already I'd dump. This means dumping big names and also fringe players/subs with a lot of caps who haven't performed or are too old and past it now. I don't think they deserve anymore chances. I believe you need a lot of pace at international level in attack, something England have really lacked. It's easy to quickly get bodies behind the ball against a team incapable of a quick counter attack and who **** around with the ball in defence like England do. My team: ---------------------Hart-------------------------- --Richards--Cahill------Lescott-------Baines------ ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------Parker(c)----------------------- ---Walcott--------------------------Sinclair----------- ------------------Chamberlain----------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- ------------Sturridge-----------Bent------------------- In defence I'd make 10 men get behind the ball every time against a top team leaving either Bent or Sturridge up, and try to hit the opponent with a fast counter considering the amount of pace in the side. If the other team does play 451 and park the bus it won't be the end of the world as all the players in front of Parker are capable of taking 1 or 2 players on to create room for a pass, cross or shot. I'll probably get a lot of stick for this team, at least it's refreshingly young! I wasn't too sure about the CAM role no one sprung to mind. Chamberlain looks capable of playing there so I put him there. If there's a better option I'd play Chamberlain on the right and put Walcott on bench
Time to throw out the dead wood and try some youngsters. Rooney on the bench as most people don't seem to realise our record is better without him in the team! Hart Richards Cahill Jones Baines Gerrard Parker Wilshere Chamberlain Bent Sturridge Bench: Stockdale, Milner, Rooney, Smalling, Upson, Welbeck, Sinclair (Scott, not Trevor)
Hart Richards CB Lescott Cole Parker Milner Oxlade-Chamberlain Rooney Sturridge Welbeck All of the England centre backs are in wretched form or injured. Jones or Smalling are great players but finding things tough at the moment. Wilshere and Cleverley would be there or there abouts if proven fit.
-------------------Hart----------------------- Richards-----Lescott---Cahill------Cole--- -----Wilshere------Parker-------Britton------- ----Johnson-------Rooney---------Sturridge---- Subs:Carson,Bent,Oxo,Walcott,Crouch,Smalling,Milner.
Think Wilshere is injured still no? Otherwise I would have picked him and changed formation By the way I went for Cahill and Lescott as they kept a clean sheet together against Spain so will have confidence from that
44fucking2 Hart Richards Terry Lescott Cole Lennon Parker Gerrard (c) Sturridge Rooney Bent Unfortunately with harry in charge it will end up Heart Walkah Ledlee Micky D Ashley Cole Scotty (triffic lad) Stevie Lennun JC (if eez still doing gud in french) Wazza Germin Defoe
Hart (c) Richards Jones Lescott Cole Parker Wilthsire Young Gerrard Sturridge Rooney Subs: Johnson, Smalling Baines Rodwell Lampard Walcott Downing Milner Bent Cahill I think you've got to keep some of the senior players in for this tournament. Gerrard and Rooney are still world class so they have to stay too.
HART RICHARDS LESCOTT JONES BAINES LENNON WILSHIRE PARKER COLE WALCOTT HESKEY (just kidding) CARROLL SUBS, DEFOE, CAHILL, WALKER, ROONEY, MILNER, CROUCH, STOCKDALE, JOHNSON
...................Hart...................... Walker...Jagielka...Lescott...Baines .........Parker(c)...Rodwell............. Walcott....Chamberlain.......Sinclair ................Wellbeck................... Wouldn't hppen, but would be decent. Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, Rio, Terry and Cole are just over the hill and the old guard that we need to move on from. The Lescott/Jagielka partnership is solid and the left/right partnership does it for me.
----------Hart---------- --Richards--Cahill--Lescott--Baines-- ---Parker----Wilshere--- --Walcott--Young--Sturridge-- ---------Bent----------
Hart Richards - Cahill - Jags - Baines Johnson - Parker - Wilshere - Young Rooney - Sturridge Subs: Carson, Kelly, Jones/Smalling, Chamberlain, Rodwell, Cleverley, Welbeck/Wickham (if he becomes as good as he could be)
As well as the old guard, Rooney should stay at home. He needs to learn his lesson for being an idiot against Montenegro. He'll go though and be awful a usual. If Wilshere gets some luck with his injuries and gets in a good run of games under his belt, then I'd take him.
Hart Richards Jagielka Lescott Baines Gerrard Parker Wilshere Sturridge Rooney Young During Rooney's suspension, probably Bent or Welbeck and once he gets a bit more experience I'd like to see Chamberlain get more involved.
