If he convinced them they were paying for sins of a former life, may be they'd put some fckuing effort in to make amends
Ha Ha! Valid point - we'd be doing more praying than training! Hoddle worth ago - just concerned that he hasn't really been around the cutting-edge 'business' side of our football game today. He last managed a club team when Ruud Gullit was still playing... things have moved on some way from those days.
I'd like to see Hoddle given another chance with England, or offered some sort of development role at the new national training facility.
I've always been a massive fan of Hoddle as a manager & honestly believe his England team was one of the best ever assembled. Beckham at CM with others around him pulling the strings was pure class. If DB hadn't have got sent off then things COULD have been so difrent. he's been out for a while, but Im sure a a football person he will have kept up with the development of the game. thing is, why would he come to us? he has more to lose than gain. Personally i'd love to see solskjar given a go. 5 year contract & if we go down again then so be it. Stick with him and his beliefs. if you read/believe any of the books written about him and his time at Man Utd, SAF said he was a secret weapon. He "apparently' used to sit and study the game for 60 mins and figure out where the gaps/holes in defence were, then SAF would put him on and he would exploit them. I'd love to see him as our manger. It would also rekindle my love with our club. REAL FOOTBALL FOR REAL FANS !!
OGS has had 2 excellent (champions) seasons at Molde - this season injuries have meant that they were bottom after 8/9 games, be interesting to see how quickly he can turn it around. I wouldn't be at all unhappy at his appointment, it would be a statement of intent for the future - not sure he (or anyone sane) would want to come to us in our present state though.
I had a look at Hoddle's Academy site yesterday... he's working with Dave Beasant, Graham Rix and a few others in Spain. They had an academy in Dubai which seems to have folded, and are trying to expend into Africa. They take players that have been released from their clubs and give them a second chance. Not sure how it's funded - do the released players pay for it themselves... It seems like a reasonably big operation, in Spain they supply all the players for a league 3 team to put them in the 'shop window'. I wonder if he would want to give that up for the stresses and pain of league management, given the inevitable media interest and dragging up of all the 'disabled' controversy again.
I was so disappointed when he was sacked as England manager for his religious beliefs. We were looking good then and could have got better. I recon it's downhill from there. But can he do the job now? Not sure.
Yes Seaull, OGS made a good start as a Manager of a first team, but now Mollde are just one position above the bottom Club on goal difference only, Played 12, Won 2 Lost 6. So yes, I*m also very intersted to see if he can turn it around. Kjetil Rekdal is another name I'd throw in from Norway. He is a real winner type, both as a player and Manager, and wouldn't take any nonsense from players. He too though has not made such a good start to this season, he went back to VÃ¥lerenga and they are only 5th from botttom.
Now that's what i call music part quatre-vingt-neuf and welcome to you Sir Cowley hope you haven't got a Marina or a Morris Ital?
Like anyone here would give anybody 3 years, 3 months and people seem to turn. Whats happening to players seems to be rubbing off on the supporters imo.
How about Jordan? Plenty up top. Would be popular in the dressing room, especially at shower time, which would boost team morale and comradeship. Could use the new stadium for her equestrian sideline. She could design our next kit. Bound to be a book deal in it too. And loads of publicity, so fits the club profile.
