When I say performance, I am talking about the manner of how the result pans out today. We don't want to see a typical "Millwall performance"' where only 2/3 of our players turn up. As an example, I would love to see Pritchard give Nicky Bailey what Ron Atkinson used to call a "livener" early on.
The turf at The Valley is good right now, just right for a spot of grazing from Nicky Bailey. With all the furore over diving recently, what odds can you get that D'Urso will produce a yellow for diving at some point, probably when Kermit has been chopped down at the knees. Unless there is an early goal, I expect fear of losing will mean a safety-first game, probably a 0-0. Having said that, it'll most likely be another 4-4. Dale Stephens could be an important player for us, if this is the game when he finally fulfils his potential.
Ideal momento to bounce back from tuesday night. I disagree with the post though. It's a local derby and if we win, the performance will be secondary. Only if we lose will the heavy analysis stuff set in.
Stephens has been slowly improving the last few weeks so I agree with that comment FHB, like Wilson I think the 3-5-2 formation is giving him a little bit of protection and is allowing Jacko / Pritchard to get forward giving him more options. Dont know what your talking about though, please explain what you mean by... Kermit getting a free-kick for being chopped down, I thought that was in the rules of the game now?? On a serious note he's gonna have a difficult day up against the brick ****(tu)-house (who I feel as a human mountain will come out on top of that one) I also believe we're gonna draw this one though either a 0-0 or a 1-1 (as both teams will be afraid of losing and what with us being on the TV) - We do though need to score first, we have to quieten down (if its even possible) the Millwall fans!!
A4L- I expect ****tu will probably be marking Church. If he marks Kermit he'll get pulled all over the shop.
Stephens will be vital for us. If he can plant it around the pitch like he can we will come out on top I think. Fear of losing is one of those things that will affect us. I'll take a horrible scrappy own goal in the 93rd minute to make it 1-0 to us all day long. Don't care about how we play, I just want a win
Firstly, can I say how much I hate early kick-offs - I'll either be depressed for the rest of the day (rather than a few hours at the end of it) if we lose, or too pissed to do anything else today if we win. I'm going for a 0-0 draw here and a damned hard game. If Messrs Solly and Kermorgant aren't fully fit, I doubt whether either will be risked.
Charlton: Hamer; Wiggins, Wilson, Wood, Morrison, Dervite; Stephens, Jackson, Pritchard; Church, Pigott. Alnwick, Evina, Cousins, Gower, Harriott, Stewart, Sordell
I'm in the armchair, have the tv loud as I can handle, sipping on a few Laphroaigs. Let's go Reds Army, I will need a straight jacket if we win tonight ! 3-0 Addicks
Pritchard isn't only a bad passer, loses all his duels too.. get him off CP! What's the exact attendance?
