A deflated Sean O'Driscoll praised rivals Swindon following their 3-2 derby victory over his Bristol City side. Aden Flint and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas strikes were cancelled out by Nicky Ajose efforts before Nile Ranger clinched a dramatic winner with three minutes remaining. The defeat leaves Sean O'Driscoll's men in the bottom four in League One, despite being one of the favourites for promotion. O'Driscoll said: "You have got to give the home side some credit, they believed they would score and we were three on three a lot of times. "I watched a lot of League One last season and trust me, it's a far better division this season then it ever was last year. "We are trying to build on something that has never been built on, this season was always going to be a transitional season for us, the fans and everybody at the club. "For an away performance against a side that are confident, it was pleasing." http://www.football365.com/news/20784/8935073/- Everything is all right then.....
As I wrote in another post, against Swindon we had a much harder derby than against Rovers, possibly true to say it was our hardest game yet and we lost by the odd goal of 5. Of note it is interesting that SOD WHEN DOWN makes substitutions like KEEF USED TO MAKE a forward or midfielder for a defender previous managers were ostracised for this! Shows his attitude is we will not take a defeat by 1 goal softly, and even ramps it up to to win the draw at times No...because we still have a bit work to do
Excuse my intrusion, but I chuckled this morning when watching the 'Sunday Supplement'. One of the journalists said that the current word is 'Project'. Any manager whose team is not winning at the moment says that 'It's a long term project'. Looks like we've got two projects going on in Bristol!
I get that SOD does not want to openly criticise the team or individuals (De Canio take note), however, if he keeps saying every team that we fail to beat is better than us for this reason or that then the board (and fans) might just start asking why.
Swindon was an encouraging performance - the first League win is coming on Saturday - mark my words!!
i actually thought we played well for most of the game and was encouraged, gutted we lost didnt deserve that, surely a draw at least, sort out the defence is my cry!
Sod is right nothing wrong with the play on Saturday, bloody unlucky and the players gave a good account of themselves. Do not mind loosing when the team give it their all,the win will come on saturday.
Got to be honest I was impressed with Swindle's passing game. Their defence apart from that beast looked ordinary but they looked a handful going forward.
Three players on their side were fantastic, caused us all sorts of problems, they will hit the playoffs.
You lot may have thought you played well we were without four key players and we werent up to our normal levels even so we deserved the win. We were better in possession and created more as the stats show. Both defences looked poor but going forward apart from your goals and you hitting the bar near the end that is all you created all game. You look vulnerable down the left where Shorey is Bladock was non existent up front. I think if we had our four key players playing the score would have been greater but that is all in hindsight. Anyway always nice to beat a team from Bristol and more pleasing when it is Rovers as they are my real hate.
