Premier League: Ozil, Sanchez demand £250k a week.

Arsenal may need to spend as much as £36m more than they initially budgeted for to tie both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchezdown to new contracts, reported the Times.

Both players are requesting the club pay them £250,000-a-week once they put pen to paper on their respective extensions - which comes in at £70,000-a-week more than the initial figures that were discussed with both parties when contract talks started a year ago.

Beyond ridiculous. Completely out of control.

They are only following the examples set by the likes of Big Sam. It has to stop but I don't know how you do stop it .

Hardly like arsenal run at a loss. So fair enough. The players are the people who get bums on seats and bring in sponsorship as well as TV deals.

Anyone who's a bit funny with it should go find a nice communist country to live in.

Only the clubs at the top of the pile can afford that kind of money and they`re more or less forced into paying it so they can stay there.

Apart from praying for a Leicester type blip the rest of us have got no chance of competing with that.

Ozil will get that money no problem at City, United or Chelsea because he's got it in him to be phenomenal, so Arsenal have to pay the going rate.

Sanchez doesn't belong in that bracket, he's a Cazorla, or a Giroud, he's just not good enough to win the big ones.

China is about as communist as the US mate. Biggest growth of capitalism over the past decade anywhere in the world.

One players pay rise of £70,000 a week being close to the total wage of our top earners shows how wide the gap really is.

Same division, different league. Can`t see us ever getting near to that.

Disagree about Sanchez mind - I think he is a phenomenal player - think they both are personally but, then again, you know what I watch every week!!!

We won't unless crazy money comes in and redevelops both the city and the club much in the way citeh's owners have.

Or some sort of moneyball incident occurs... Which is far more likely.

He's a good player mate, very good, but he isn't in the same bracket as Ozil in my opinion.

The only reason you don't get out of bed Monty is because of all the straps.

You get paid what you are worth to a business.

Both star, marketable players bringing in shirt and merchandising sales.

Way I always look at it, I have good pals getting paid £15,000 a year, then others on £60,000. It's the same on a grand scale.

I do sales and marketing, my sister is an RMN, she saves lives, I make a large corporation money.

I got paid 4 times what she did last year. The players are asking for a share of what they are worth to the business, and on this basis footballers salaries are justified.

Pogba has now paid his fee AND his entire contract in merchandising, he deserves his 200k a week.

I'm baffled by this, opinions but Sanchez is a sensational game changer, Ozil is very good, but he's vastly overrated also.

Sanchez every time for me on that one.

It's funny, my basis for my opinion is because I think the opposite, he's not a game changer at all, what big games has he changed?

It's alright saying he's a 'game changer' but you can buy players who'll score against Hull for £10m mate, this lad hasn't changed any big games really has he? When Arsenal's seasonal collapse in March happened, last year and this year, what was he doing to change things? Nothing. He didn't change anything.

In my view, if Arsenal tried to sell both for £50m each, Ozil would be sold by the end of the first day, Sanchez would be staying at Arsenal.

Not disputing it mate, not arguing either. Truth be told I want us in on it.

Disheartening though when you see those sort of sums thrown about compared to our scrimping.
