In places, London's nearly 40 miles across Three miles is about the same as walking from Guildhall to the KC and back again. It's not a huge distance.
Would west ham be doing this if they was staying at upton pk. Doubt it its more about filling the new stadium.
Why would they be? Most don't come from Chelsea. Nor do I. Hence why I don't care either. I was simply asking about West Ham in relation to the Olympic Stadium. I semi followed the saga with the fighting between a few clubs, Hearn I think springs to mind too, so that's why I asked. It's good West Ham are offering Season Tickets at those prices, however, the cynic in me thinks its because they're desperate to sell as many as possible, because they absolutely need to sell out as much of the ground as possible. The cynic in me further thinks that after the first year, they'll rise, steeply. OLMs response about match day ticketing pricing is great, I never knew that. Like I said, cynic that I am, I don't think West Ham are trying to set a new standard in pricing and displaying previously unseen benevloence, I think they need to for the reasons stated, and because they've suddenly got a buckshee enormous stadium to fill and that needs to pay for itself. The Hammers fans will benefit in the short term, only time will tell if it continues.
Sure. I know how big the place is, I work there. My point was 3 miles can easily cross 2 or 3 massively different areas in societal terms as well as footballing ones.
Ssshhhhhh! You aren't supposed to point these things out when people are saying how cheap ticket are at some clubs. Same as they always quote how cheap some tickets are in Germany but not that a lot of the others ones are as dear or dearer than here. Same with Barcelona, they quote a few tickets which are cheap but not the others or the fact that you gave to be a member at £150 a year.
Pitch side season passes are £380 in three of the four stands, as are top tier passes in one stand, that's thousands of passes.
Man City are in the process of adding and extra 5,000+ seats, the majority of which will be £300 season passes.
Apparently, our cheapest season ticket puts us 7th in the Premier League pricing table, there are only six clubs who are more expensive than us.
Are West Ham one of the ones above us in that list for the coming season? West Ham currently charge between £620 and £940 for a 2014/15 season card, and a 5% in crease is due for the upcoming season.
So West Ham are currently more expensive than us, and will be next season. In the future, ours could be as free as the air we breath.
This article says there's 8,000 season tickets below £530, but it's not detailed... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...t-prices-DOUBLE-fans-hit-stadium-upgrade.html
I have a friend who is part of the management staff at Man City ticket office (they actually poached him from our ticket office), he said at present nothing is confirmed but that's plan, the third tier seats behind the goals will be the cheap season tickets, same when they extend the other end of the ground. Much like at West Ham, their main concern is filling the new seats, they see this as an incentive to get people in and then steadily increase the prices to something more realistic.
