I remember when AA took over he mentioned a £10 admission price. What has happened to that or is that another lie?
Not so much a lie, more one of his bizarre off- the- cuff soundbite utterances that do him so much damage. People go through his utterances with a fine-toothed comb ......forgetting that he talks bollocks now and again.
I gave up my pass at the beginning of the season as I could not afford it. I have only been to 1 game this season. With all the spat about the name I am quite pleased I have not lined AA pockets. I do miss the games but necessities come before footy. What I cannot understand is the ground having empty seats when we are in the top league. He could sell these tickets for a tenner (as he previously promised) 2 to 3 days before the match. Surely better to get an extra £20000 (2000 x £10) in receipts than have empty seats. COYH
Over18 - the problem with lowering ticket prices is that then you have to make up the difference on other tickets. The club has to make sure the cost of a season ticket is lower over the 19 home games than buying match day tickets. I don't know what te match day prices are, but lets say its £25 every game in each stand and he lowers the price to £10 for what's left unsold prior to the match, that means for one game we have to charge everyone £40. Not to mention people getting pissy that they've already paid £25 when they could have waited and got it for £10. It's not as simple as it sounds.
We are, as usual, reliant on the sage utterances of a 'business genius', who says either a) the first thing that comes into his head, or b) what he wants people to believe (= PR) and then he can later renege on what he said.
I get what you are saying. But, you don't have to make the missing money on the missing tickets. City would not be getting that money with 2000 empty seats so everybody gains. I take your point as regards not pissing off season pass-holders but you would probably not see every game buying the cheaper unsold tickets because somebody will probably beat you to it. Therefore, you risk not seeing all the games. A season pass in the South stand is £385 (£20 a game). The cheapest match ticket has been £23 to buy as a one off.
Yes but the overall cost of a season ticket has to be cheaper than the combination of seperate match day tickets. Unlikely you'd get to every game for a tenner yes, but lets say there are tickets left to go for £10 at half our games, that means someone could potentially go to every game for £297 - almost £100 cheaper than buying a season ticket. Also, season tickets aren't classed as £20 a game, the total cost is split up into category A, B, C games where prices are decided on at the start of the season. I believe the club is not allowed to sell match day tickets lower than the value a season ticket holder attends each game at.
It was his wish for when we get a 40k capacity. He has delivered so far on many things. Like the PL btw......
Ticket prices should increase to £40. The Allams need to price the riff raff who sing city till I did out of the stadium
I was basing the £20 a game for a season ticket worth £385 for 19 games. I agree some matches would be worth valued more due to category ie Manu, Arsenal etc. The chances of someone buying a ticket for each match would be slim due to certain matches ManU, Arsenal selling out. There is no chance of us getting 35k or 40k attendances if we cant fill at 25k stadium. We could if he charges £10 a ticket though. I will gladly pay £10 a ticket to watch dare I say it "HULL CITY TIGERS". But I cannot afford the £385 season pass to watch HULL CITY A.F.C.
Allam is full of soundbites and hubris He won't live forever or own the club forever. He might change it to Hull Tigers but this won't last the test of time.
