I read the headline 'Beer is out at the World Cup', and wondered who Beer plays for, and should we sign him up?

If it would have taken as long in those stadiums as it does to get a beer at St Marys then it's no loss really :emoticon-0105-wink:

At about £11 for 1/2 a litre not such a big loss. Although that's probably London prices these days.

Must say I'm finding some of the reaction I've seen to this news hilarious.

Yeah the timing is poor but fair play to them . It's their home ultimately and heavy drinking isn't part of their culture and fans shouldn't expect that to change for their sake.

I thought at the time it was arrogant for western countries to try and talk them into having alcohol like the tournament can't go on without it.

I've always thought, if you *need* to drink to watch football, then you don't actually like football, you like drinking.

Exactly. I happen to I like both (or did) <laugh>

I get it that people want to enjoy a drink but if you're spending thousands to travel to a world cup and no alcohol for a couple of hours at stadiums is a deal breaker then you should probably reassess your priorities in life.

I normally prefer not to (or if I do, maybe a pint or two tops) though I was tanked at the 2017 league cup final, and that was still fun!

I've always preferred to have a couple rather than get completely battered bar a few exceptions.

But then I don't actually enjoy being drunk. Tipsy is the best way to use alcohol imo.

Absolutely, can't beat the two pint 'high' anything after that for me is making it harder for the next day! I've had few good skinfulls though this year at weddings and friends parties and got away with it.

Definitely be seeing at least two of those executed in the street in a week or two.

    Can't wait.
