"much of a muchness" what's that supposed to mean!! My first wife was always saying it, used to wind me up

 

Wonder if the saying goes back to war time food rationing where they had mock wedding cakes made out of plaster that they would use as a display piece and for use in photographs?

 

The tradition used to be keeping one tier for the christening cake - about six months later
