Our first away game of the season and it's the first ever Football League game to be played at the Hive and what a funny thing fate is as we played the Bees last home Football League game at Underhill. The two sides have both won one and lost one game this season and the Bees reward for beating the Lions at the New Den is a trip to Molineux. Gaz will be hoping Aaron Pierre will have recovered from a dead leg to return to the defence but with Danny Rowe deputising more than adequately it gives him a selection headache also Harriman, McGinn and Banton will be looking to start and Captain Paul Hayes looks to return up front so who will be dropped to the bench but after two superb Marcus Bean is a sure starter. I will be busy buzzing down to the Hive taking in a few amber nectars on the wing hoping not to get stung and looking forward to seeing the boys take a b-line back to Buckinghamshire with all three points coyb
Just read that Perre wanted to play against Fulham but GA doesn't take risks with players anymore. All i've seen on otherr forums is Barnet fans saying how much they want to beat us after our cheating in The FA Cup game last season which saw 2 of their players sent off I saw that game anmd both deserved red for dangerous tackles. Got a feeling we'll nick this 1-0 or 2-1.
Well pleased with our start this season not having let a goal in, mind you we'll have bigger tests than York and Barnet. Morecambe away then Dagenham at home so hopefully our good start will continue.
A good display second half and a well deserved win but a couple of injury worries in defence with Rowe going off and Stewart missing today with the trip to Morecambe up next on Tuesday fingers crossed at least one will make it back excellent away support today from the nearly 1000 Chairboys
Great result today well done to g a and the lads and the blue army sounded fantastic. Top of the league were having a laugh
Really good atmosphere today against a tall, physical, side. Pretty much what you expect from a team managed by Mad Dog! First half we were quite fortunate as Akinde had a couple of 1 on 1's v Ingram. However, Ingram closed the angles really well and Akinde knocked them wide. Apart from that, the first 45 was scrappy. It was a typical gritty Wycombe performance that we now come to expect. Bean has suddenly proven his worth after many doubters last season and the back four is looking pretty solid. Second half we came out stronger. Great goal from Thompson and then we dominated for a period. But as you would expect, they through everything at us and Ingram pulled off a great save in the 90th minute. Banton looked very lively when he came on, but seems to always want to score the worldly and selfishly shot when a pass would have likely led to a goal. Fair enough, he is trying to prove his worth within a short cameo, but lift your head up son and the last 15 mins could have been a lot more comfortable. I read quite a bit on the Barnet forum and it was the usual crap... Wycombe are a cynical boring side.... We were as good as them and should have won the game .... Yada Yada Yada.... We are a bloody tough side to beat and use every ounce of everything we have to win. Pretty much total professionalism on all levels and we have GA and his back up staff to thank for that. There is certainly some of that old Wimbledon 'crazy gang' element to the team ethic, without the stupid antics. Let's hope both Stewart and Rowe recover quickly as without them we are struggling and it's only two games down!
