Surely one of them has to be a LB/LWB. We simply cannot go back to them years of shoehorning people into full back positions. Put proper full backs in or you don't get balance in the side. Hume still needs competition and an experienced pro to learn from at this stage in his career/development.
This is good to hear as we need a new right back and left back. competition for the spots and a more balanced defence. Mcglaughlin is a right back not a left back Hume is too young and needs blooding in slowly over the campaign Onien aint a defender, he keeps getting caught out of position going forward into his natural playing zone.

A couple of solid FBs is just what we need right now. We still seem fragile at the back, for some reason.
Personally think Hume would make a bloody good left winger. His crossing in the 1st game was abysmal but he had no cover helping at FB against Oxford. I would be tempted to give him a chance when Mcgeady tires.
A pair of decent defensive full backs who can pass a ball would be my priority, similar to Reece James maybe.
He can weigh a pass, unlike many at this level, with the right level of support he will be an asset in any position he plays down the left hand side.
