You just saw Mata be a thug and Hoover and Herrera just a chased and mkhitaryan just not look and pump it in long every time. Utd scored off a huge deflection and a set piece and just bullied a side of kids tonight.

Tbh it's the worst Utd side in living memory, not from basic talents either, those three mentioned above are fine players.

When teams sit back and counter attack against them they are parking the bus, when Liverpool lose the ball and get men back behind the ball they are defending from the front

Is the charity shield a competition now

As I said worst Utd football I have ever seen including moyes and van Gaal. Players are better than that. Footballers on show are better than that and could have smashed ajax 4 or 5 playing what you are capable of.

 

Believe me, I have seen much worse from us.
The charity shield is a kind of competition but only for teams that have won something the previous season (a bit like winning top 4 or 6), regardless of it being a pre-season friendly it was one of the 5 things we were eligible for.
If I take that out of the equation and say we won 2 out of the 4 competitions we were eligible for would that make you feel better?

I felt relieved, yes, but I didn't enjoy it - and I've said as much many times. Each to their own, but I want to be entertained when I watch a game.
I didn't start going to football games to have bragging rights - that means absolutely nothing to me - I watch football because I love the game and I want to see it played well.
Sometimes when you're up against it you just have to grind out some results here and there, but that's very different to making it your modus operandi.

 

Yup, give Jose his due - he's the Sam Allardyce of grinding out trophies. I'm envious.

But say you do sign some exciting players, do you think they would be stifled by Jose?

We all know the PL is worth about 3 carling cups and 2 europeys.

We all know we laughed at the scousers when they did the treble of europey, fa and carling cup as that is in no way a replacement for the PL or a CL.

 

Can't knock the mans achievements. One of the greatest of all time.

But he needs to show more respect, especially seeing as how much he celebrated today's win, after dismissing this tounrament a few years ago.

 

He's turned Mikitaryan and Mata into Dennis Wise and Robbie Savage.

 

TBH I would much rather us have played decent for half a season and get into the CL qualifiers

 

to be fair, it is boring watching Jose do it, but its really only his modus operandum in knockout games and in the big matches in the league especially away from home.
