So if the sponsorship is dodgy, and we get investigated, does that mean - like Man City - that we will be threatened with expulsion from the Champion's League for a season?
Funny thing is: our best-case is that this is something kinda nefarious, because their website was so filled with inaccuracies, wild claims* and random stock photos of elderly people/squirrels that it's rather difficult to imagine that they as an operating concern have the funds for this. *They were either founded in 2010, 2015, or two months ago. They either have 200 football centres worldwide, or haven't launched yet. They're working with a number of top teams, but there's absolutely no indication of any relationship with those teams. They're either a company that builds facilities, one that trains footballers, or an online entertainment platform. Unconfirmed reports are that they're both a floor wax and a dessert topping.
This all seems so strange/dodgy. Why on earth would we announce the partnership before their website was launched? Then on their website maintenance page it says to follow them on social media pages which aren’t even created. All very amateur.
Yep, huge alarm bells for me that the club said it was a new start up when their website said differently. Says it all that the website has been taken down this morning...
They did have a Chinese website tbf, it was just full of wild claims and contradictory nonsense from what the club said.
This all reminds me of a certain recent ferry deal with a company with no boats that the government signed...
Such a shame how the club is going and how many very able people behind the scenes are going to sink their reputations with it.
