Welcome to the 2019 new car thread discussion.

Here we can talk about why the 2019 Haas and Sauber bear a striking resemblance to the 2018 works Ferrari and then listen to the weak denials that they look nothing like it.

Nah, not really (or will they!?)

Is any team going to stand out from the crowd and dare to be different with their design?

I believe McLaren will come with something special. They must or risk losing their place in F1 racing history. I think Williams will also come with something different too. Something tells me Red Bull will regret firing Renault.

Please let that be true !

Nothing against the hard working team members ( ALL of them ) Except Horner & Helmet .

    I'm calling it now .

If this year is a disaster for them , they will humiliate Honda , give it one more year and leave ( toys out of pram ) end of 2020 .

They will walk away stinking rich , sod the workers and try to be Teflon coated AGAIN .

I don't think it's all engine when it comes to Red Bull. They make very good cars so will still be up there. McLaren rolled a lot of heads buried personal under patios and expected Honda to get good very quickly which was mistake after mistake. I hope they climb back up but can't see them being winners until a dramatic rule change untangle the Mercedes strong hold. Renault will be better than McLaren and so could RP.

Its tough. I wouldn't want to see any of the current teams lining the back of the grid. We don't have a traditional back marker team anymore

I will be very interested in the comparison between Red Bull and Toro Rosso as they are now using same PU, gearbox and rear suspension!!!
I do hope McL and Williams come back to at least mid pack this year.
It would be so good if Merc and Ferrari made some big errors in chassis to give others a chance but I doubt it'

I am worried that the teams are getting too powerful. In that we have had Red Bull and TR for quite a while but now we have Ferrari, Hass and Alfa, maybe Merc and Racing Point. I think they are combining for 2 reasons. First to have more power in negotiations for 2021. Second when the budget caps come in they will have other teams to 'assist' the main team in development. I am surprised Merc aren't 'teaming up' but I wonder if that is due to them planning on pulling out in 2021?

The thing is...Renault didn't just forget how to make good, fast engines all of a sudden. They took Red Bull and Vettel to 4 straight titles. I refuse to believe that it was all chassis that made Red Bull miles faster than everybody for four straight years. For them to dismiss Renault and be putting them all the time is totally and unashamedly ungrateful. After a while and the bad talking, I dont think Renault had the will or inspiration to push development for Red Bull. Especially with the knowledge that Red Bull were about to run off to another engine supplier.

Red Bull should have kept their mouth shut publically when Renault were not performing as they expected. I would hope the pubic thrashing they gave Renault was a last resort but they started as soon as the first Renault hybrid started in testing. It just seems like that is Helmuts way, he seems to bully people, companies, etc I am surprised they attract talent at all!

Renault are where they are now as 3rd best because of getting screwed by the engine freeze rule in 2007. Red bull have done something good with it that no other constructor has such as Williams, Lotus and McLaren. It's much more than engine power.

It's not lotus. They have made it similar to a famous cigarette branding. Just like Ferrari.

no, Marlboro is Philip Morris, JPS is Imperial Tobacco.

As to Haas, I like the look of it, livery-wise, I didn;t like eithe rof their previous 2, though '18 was a defo improvement on the grey. Silveris passable, call me old fashioned, but grey does't belong on a racing car.

In all seriousness I like it too. I think the white HAAS branding on black side pods looks quite striking.

Although only livery launches I'm looking forward to seeing what williams and RP will look like

I thought I was just out of touch with trendy drinks and not having seen Rich Energy. It's all a bit weird.
