Yeah, it looks like both Preston and Boro are out of the race now. After 71 minutes, Preston have managed only 1 shot.

Let's hope it does inspire Leicester.

Trying to map out how we stop the Binners going up in the autos by ensuring it’s not over when they play Coventry and Hull <laugh>. I think it is:
    - West Brom lose to Leicester
    - Hull beat Watford
    - Hull and Coventry draw or Coventry win
    - Coventry beat Blackburn
    - West Brom lose against Wednesday or draw (as long as Coventry beat Hull)

That way, both Hull and Coventry would be four points off West Brom when they play Ipswich, each with a game after that to make up the ground

Norwich City can confirm that head of football development Steve Weaver has made the decision to vacate his role at club.

Weaver joined City in 2017 and would go on to play a key role in reshaping the club’s academy setup.

A total of 24 players have since progressed through the academy to make a first-team debut, including the likes of Jonathan Rowe, Adam Idah, Andrew Omobamidele and Max Aarons.

Are there any further details as to why? I wonder if there is a replacement lined up

This is probably close to the main reason as Knapper puts youth development at the heart of his vision for the club:

"Weaver's relationship with Webber is long-standing. He was in charge at Wrexham when the ex-City sporting director sought a first coaching opportunity whilst a groundsman. They have renewed their relationship subsequently at Wolves, Huddersfield and then Norwich. Given Weaver is a Webber-ite in every sense, there is perhaps an inevitability about his departure. Most expect them to link up again whenever the ex-City football chief takes on a new challenge in the game. There is also a feeling from some that the opportunity for a fresh pair of eyes and a new direction is required. Seven years in football is a lifetime - and there is a school of thought that this cycle of the academy, like in other areas, is in need of rejuvenation."

Graphic depicting Championship midfielders this season for ground duels won per 90 and win %
    • Kenny McLean is a monster
    • Sara is holding his own
    • Núñez is progressing

Since Knapper likes numbers, he should like these.

Done now Zog. Preston no longer a contender but I've left them in.

Southampton losing after going up 0-1 was a surprise. I think I would fancy playing whoever was 3rd rather than Southampton, because they can mentally prepare for the playoffs now whereas whoever is third will be disappointing

It looks like McCallum has done enough for a new contract now. His average on WhoScored for games started is 7.15. He's had the advantage that most of his games have come during our good run, but it's impressive all the same.

It’s satisfying to know that the only prospect of us missing out on the playoffs involves the Binners probably missing out on the autos

Maybe our good run has occurred because he is in the starting eleven Rick. Ha! Hadn't thought of it that way! <sorry>

Certainly he's contributed his share, as this list of his last 10 games suggests:

This is helpful. In my mind, the performance against Leicester really sticks out when he got ran a little ragged, but this shows you shouldn’t let memory deceive you!
