Bristol City is like a white water raft going down a gorge in the spring you start off calmly, one grabs the steering a few the paddles and the flow gently takes you, and others gently downstream. As a pre cursor to what is to come you get some rough water, already some of the other rafts have lost out whilst they practiced techniques and teamanships. City just hung on and went with flow risking this that and the other and built up a nice lead. now whilst most of the other rafts fared well, city with a lack of preparation could not handle the rougher water of the middle stretch of the journey, and now found they were entangled with most of the fleet as the turbulence eased, as it does before the worst rapids, the course looming up was 4 fast rocky turbulent stretch's that would need team work, energy, and a will to win to see them through ... Saturday... away to Derby : Rotherham have Blackburn come on Millers ... whilst Wigan home to Norwich: catch up game QPR home to Huddersfield Wolves home to Newcastle Burton are at Brighton Wigan are at Fulham Florest with new found buoyancy are at Norwich AT THE END OF THE FIRST RAPID .... Rotherhams buoyancy may have bottomed out and City 's buoyancy just keeping them above the line of jagged rocks on goal difference
Maybe the lads will surprise us. We are an unknown quantity at the moment. This is what happens when a club gets too many loan players in, making it difficult to gel. Add to that the large amount of new faces generally at the club and you will see a side that doesn't yet know itself, playing teams that are well drilled and battle-hardened. Thats why buying your players in the summer is a far better idea than bringing in 4 new ones in January (another thing that Cotterill taught us but we forgot). The players must learn each other, and learn quickly I feel optimistic that they will
THEY ALMOST DID! We gained a point on Wolves Florest, QPR, Wigan, Burton, Villa as it turned out! AND have a game in hand over Burton Florest and QPR SO NOT A BADS DAYS/WEEKS WORK!
