You would be daft to take 2/1 about Watford I think. They are just as likely to finish bottom half as go up as it stands. I am a fan of the new manager, but not the way they run the club. They are the great unpredictables in my eyes right now.
Norwich favourites for me. I'd imagine our odds for the drop would be similar, as they've little to go off. ( Apart from giving the punters nowt that is!)
Norwich are ran to be a yo yo club so must be favourites, Watford are a basket case of a club, just as likely to sack the manager after 10 games if they look vaguely of the pace. I don't think 7/1 is unreasonable given the squad we have and the rumours circulating
Put a slack tenner on us winning the thing at 20/1 based on nowt more than blind hope and optimism. Got a couple of hundred back last time when Keane was in charge and we were bottom and won it. Edwaaaaards!
I know mate, I'd only waste that tenner on drink or enjoying myself or something though Send us your bank details I'll have tenner on that too haha!
I haven't heard back, know it was tongue in cheek like. Could put a ton on and lay it off for guaranteed wins if being an arsehole. All good banter like, could be 1000/1 when it doesn't happen to be fair haha!
I'd have Norwich as heavy favourites personally. They seem to alternate with Fulham between Premier League and Championship on an annual basis. Because they don't risk everything on overspending for survival, they are able to maintain a core squad that still plays attractive football. Beyond that I think it looks wide open this year. I think Watford and Burnley have the potential for implosion (though it wouldn't be a shock for them to be in the mix with parachute payments). You'd expect Sheff Utd, Huddersfield and Middlesbrough to build on this year and be in the mix. As for ourselves, I think solid midtable shouldn't be a problem, but if we can mix the feel good factor, and squad togetherness with a few good signings, there's no reason why we couldn't find some momentum and gate crash the playoffs.
I'll be more than happy with a bit of stability, so a mid-table finish would be okay with me. However, if the rumours of the ambition of the new investors are correct, then we could well finish much higher than that. Another weekend in the Capital?
