Nobody was going to beat Tricky Dicky on that one. That was perfection! Alosno 5th. That's an absolutely outstanding result!
Yep. Early running for Qualifying didn't help at this time of day when the track changes quickly. P5 is still a stunning performance in only his second qualifying session ever. Congrats to him.
I'm going to be selfish guys. I hope he falls in love with the racing, with the very close knit Indy family and commits full time.
The way Alonso has approached this race and his performance so far has made me look at him in a whole new light. It's been said that he's one of the most complete drivers, but with this excursion he is totally proving that. To just rock up and land in 5th among some seasoned oval racers is mighty impressive. I think there's a lot more to come from him and the car next weekend. I'm really hoping for a fairytale end to this foray.
He certainly looks happy. I don't think I've seen him interviewed and being so cheerful in a long time.
