As far as I know Will Buckley has a 15% sell on clause, but no other. There is some sort of arrangement with Posh over Britt, but not sure quite how that works.
And if (when?) Palarse go down, that would make all 3 seasons, that Ady has spent in the Premiership, relegation seasons - once each with Reading, Palarse and of course us in 2006/7. Tough luck.......
I actually thank palarse have made some shrewd signings - doesn't stop me hoping they fall flat on their backsides!! Wish Aidy well, can't help thinking he could do better.
Mind you, 'Arry admitted what his tactics are with signing Carroll - all the other 23 teams need to do is man-mark him as "our play will go through Tom".
Even if we did, I don't think it would amount to diddly squat. Sell on clauses are usually a percentage of the difference between what the player was bought for and what he was sold for. e.g. if a club sold a player for £2M with a 10% sell on clause, and that player was subsequently sold for £10M, the sell on fee would be 10% of £8M (£10M-£2M), and not 10% of £10M. We sold Aidy for something like £3M-£3.5M, so unless Palace bought him for over £4M any sell on clause will mean very little to us unfortunately.
OK Thanks Mitch, I was going on memory and seemed to recall it was an 'undisclosed fee believed to be around £3M' that was reported at the time. But, it does not change the scenario that the Crystal Palace 'undisclosed fee' is unlikely to be massively different to what we received so any sell on fee, if there was one, would be negligible
Could be worse fellas, you could have sold your 15% sell-on clause for £1.5m and Tommy Forecast, only for that player to then be sold for £85m
