Article in the Times , saying how the HMRC are ripping off pensioners - you have to jump through hoops to talk to anybody let alone try and resolve the unfair emergency tax they put you on - obviously it all works to their advantage- robbing cvnts
They f*** over the little man and the big players get away with murder, absolute ****s. @lardiman please accept my apologies for the coarse language.
I’m sure my 40% will help the “Men “ on the dinghies that are fleeing the war ( while their women and children remain? ) get free housing , mobiles etc etc so I’m cool with it
The locals are not taking things lying down, unlike the tents on the streets, good for them showing us what should be done. I fear that when I set foot outside Bromley South in a few months time I'll see this outside Tesco Express and up the high street.
Having picked up several Brownie Points by starting to give a spare bedroom a lick of paint, I now find that one of the skirting boards is rotten, and there's a small damp patch of plaster about 5' up.
You haven’t had that foam cavity wall insulation installed have you ? It was all the rage about 15/20 years ago. It’s caused massive damp problems in lots of houses.
A cavity is there for a reason - air flow to prevent damp problems- cavity insulation can create terrible problems depending on which material is used , personally I wouldn’t touch the stuff
It's on the first floor. There's quite a bit of condensation in that room, due to it having two outside walls, and the walls are solid. The outside wall looks fine, although there is a downpipe clamp which I'll have to check. I'm guessing that the skirting board rot was caused by something in the past, as it's bone dry now. There was a woodworm problem at one time, but we got the house treated when we moved in 10 years ago for all types of rot and woodworm.
Had that in my last place with 3 outside walls - it was a nightmare for damp and the storage heaters were absolute crap - so we moved !
Storage heaters We had those f****** things in my place in Shortlands, the energy bills cost the earth whilst I was wearing a wooly hat and scarf.
They were ****e - they warmed the place while you were at work then went cold in the evening when You wanted it warm - we told the new people they were marvellous
Family visit to Brighton yesterday. You can't go swimming there any more because of a covering of algae on the sea. I don't know if it's caused by sewage discharge or rising sea temperatures.
