Business is creeping up, now back to about 80% of pre-lockdown. We are running as normal, early evening people prefer to stand around the bar. The pool table is always busy as I have two teams in the local league and bot are practicing most nights.
Waiting for @The Elfsborg Sparrow to make his threatened visit to see a local game, he can report back.
I love the duet they sing THere'll be some Changes or whatever it's called. Guitar heroes can be a bit egotistical, but here you have two genuinely modest men. I've recently learned to hack my way through my own comparatively crude versions of two of Chet's favourite tunes, See You in my Dreams, and Mr Sandman. I'd love to be able to play with Chet's beautiful clean sound, but hey-ho, he played on national TV, I play at my local open-mike.
It's something I have been considering. I would need an anchor act to keep things moving and have asked a local duo but they have developed quite well and are now playing small theatres. If it becomes a serious proposition I will let you know.
Suggestions for this week's show please. "Jackson Cage" by Springsteen for starters. No Michael Jackson please...
Jackson Browne The only song of his that I really know is 'In the shape of a heart' from his 1986 album 'Lives in the balance'. But I'm aware he has had a long career, so there may be a place for some of his other works.
Joe Jackson is featured occasionally, never really liked his jazz period but loved his first two albums.
He started out as a songwriter for Nico, formerly of The Velvet Underground, and also wrote "Take It Easy" for The Eagles. He is one of the cowboys holding The Eagles prisoner on the cover of "Desperado".
