Unbelievable work from Alan once again, keeping that Dutch side in the league seemed an impossible task. Well gents, he did it.
pardew did well, but he had a **** team in the end and nobody ever liked him, so when it went wrong he was ****ed..
Lol I've defended him before. He did very well with us, gave me one of my best seasons as a Newcastle fan when we went 5th. Even when he lost all his good players we were still fighting in 10th.
he did until ba went, cabaye was sold, debuchy went and we signed gouffran rivierre and someone else that was ****e
tbh the side was ****e by the time he jumped ship. He knew it was coming , but it wasnt all his fault. What a manager leaves to the next manager counts. This is why Steve Bruce got lucky because while he did walk into difficult circumstances he walked into a very well behaved and organised mid table side...
It all went downhill for him when he said mike knew nothing about football. Mike then responded by providing him with a director of ****all.
This is, I assume, sarcasm because the Dutch league has been cancelled with no relegation? DennHaag were in relegation zone (or playoffs maybe? Not sure how their league works)
Clown and yes-man as Pardew was, the 11/12 team of Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Coloccini, Tiote, Simpson, Krul etc was phenomenal, and the best team we've had and the best football we've played for the last 15 years+ Still glad he left and didn't see out that 8 year contract though.
I always thought Gouffran was ok. Average but he did ok. But yes he did well till then players left. That team had the core of being a ducking good side of it had been managed right and added to. Cabaye and tiote. Ba cisse. Ben Arfa. Colo. that had the ingredients like.
Pardew was a better manager than we realised but not as good as he believed. He did incredibly well in 11/12 with a team that over performed but struggled once he started to believe the hype that came his way.
Agree he did well in 2011/12 but don’t think the team over performed. It was just a very good team playing well. Part of that will have been due to Pardew. He always was though an unacceptable character to be manager of NUFC.
