Go and read about what the boys of the old brigade is about, and then come back and answer me

A song about the war of independance 1919 -1921

Yet the murders you refer to are in 1922?

Im not saying they were lovely people, but they were nothing to do with the modern incarnation of the IRA

    Just like with the UVF

People hear refernence and could assume a link, even if not. It works both ways

After extensive research (30secs on the interweb) I can reveal that the Sunburst flag with green background (as seen at CP) was adopted by Irish nationalists in 1843 - pre-dating the PIRA by approx 130 years. The Fianna Eireann version has a blue background (as shown in Medro's own picture).

The Boys of the Old Brigade is a reference to the IRA in the 1920s, the same ones that murdered and drove 1000s of protestants out of the Republic. The cork murders were just an example.

But here you still are making excuses.

    Cut that garbage out!

"At the present day, the sunburst continues to be used by both the Irish-language and the Republican movements."

The IRA youth wing being 1 of them.

That example I gave you might have but don't be naive. They were responsible for scores of murders.

So again a blinding coincidence that these men vocally show their support for the IRA, hold up a card display used by the IRA youth wing and you're trying to say it has to do with the Irish language.

All im saying is just beacuse something COULD be linked to something - it doesnt always mean it is.

Just because your conclusion is that this flag links some celtic fans to the IRA youth - doesnt mean it does

You've just been told above the flag the IRA youth use is a different colour

you've also been told above that the IRA they sing about is not the IRA of modern days

So yes i'd say it could be coincidence. There is probably more chance of arguing it doesnt relate to the IRA youth as saying it does

    Get it?

The green flag with central sunBurst was from earlier days. The one in the corner us mire modern and has it's links with the IRA youth wing. It's clear as day.

Ok, ill keep this simple for you

Look at YOUR first post on this thread, on the pictures YOU posted

What colour is the background on the Celtic fans display?

What colour is the background on the picture the little rebel is holding?
