Foot in mouth moment, but it would probably be a good idea if transgenders choose a name that isn't bi-gender. I don't know any men called Olive, so that could be recommended.
I just take delight when these moments happen to chaps like Vine who try desperately to be ‘right on’.

Not sure if anybody heard it a couple of days ago on radion 4 10 years ago...when asked their feelings about transgender people... over 60% of the UK population were ambivalent or positive to trans people " their life, live it how they want". When asked this year it was down to 40%, with a significant increase in the number who were saying...it was wrong, should not be allowed, dangerous to the population. The commentator put it down to the " in your face" attitude of trans activism. It is certainly very different to homosexuality, which seems to me mostly fully accepted...and does not appear to be any "sort of threat".... It is odd
It's exactly as you say, Beth. Aggressive, entitled activism that's turned the public off and been counter-productive.
