Then I recommend you watch them in La Liga because you'll see how well they counter.

So Dortmund were poor last year but you're going to ignore Klopp's previous 6-7 years where Dortmund were outstanding?

Weak opposition in their league? You clearly don't watch other leagues.

    Neither did Rodgers.

But when you have a player like Suarez in your team, anything was possible. Almost single handedly won us the league.

I've never found watching Liverpool boring. Even when Rafa played two full backs on either wing. (or when we once had 5 on at one time with Aurelio playing CDM).

I fully understand we may be boring to @The Neutrals. We certainly have been in the past, but watching my own team is never boring.

To answer the Op ,yes we are boring to watch but would rather be that way and win than exciting and lose.

Athletico are a very defensive team that counter, but wouldn't call their football free flowing.

No, not ignore it just saying last year they were pants.

And yes, the German league (bar 2 or 3 clubs) and Dutch league are weak, just look at how far their teams get in Europe etc.

Ah got you - you're right, it's not free flowing but they still attack as a unit and score some really good goals.

They were rubbish for most of the season because they lost so many players through injuries - I think there is a stat where every one of the starting XI was injured at some point during the season. But worth noting that they turned it around, played well, finished 1/2 positions behind us and won a cup.

But the underlying point I'm making is that teams can be defensively sound and still play good football. You can add Juventus in the mix during last season's CL.

It's great to know. No matter how many mistakes you make in life. No matter how useless you are. No matter how little talent and ability you have.

You can still aspire to be England manager.

It's what motivates me to get out of bed each day.

  14. Different type of ****e though. Woy would bend over backwards for anyone not associated with Liverpool, especially for his special friend up to M62.

Dortmund and At Madrid aren't rich and operate on a fraction on what we do - that didn't stop them winning titles against Bayern or Barca.

Juve and Ajax are the same but compete against the big CL teams with more fight than we did under Rodgers.

Whereas that's true. Germany only has one big team to beat for Dort and Spain has two for AM. An off year for those teams provides a window.

In England you have extremely wealthy Chelsea, Man C1ty, and Man 2nited. If any of those teams need to outspent us they easily can. There's also Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle who seem to regulary have a lot of money to compete with us financially.

    Spain have Barca and Real.

Germany have Bayern, Dortmund and I suppose Wolfsburg now.

England has Chelsea and City. If you're going to include Arsenal, United, then you have to also include At Madrid, Valencia, Wolfsberg, Leverkusen in the list.

Outside of England, bar Real, Barca, PSG and Bayern - we are amongst the biggest spenders. And what have we got to show for it?

Lack of money is not an issue for us - of course we cannot compete with the bigger clubs when it comes to the biggest stars but that's where we need to be smarter.

    Now your mixing your arguments.
Atletico won their title by being awesome defensively, they weren't brilliant going forward when they won it.

Dortmund I don't know the stats but we're they scoring 100 goals and conceding 20 when they won the title?

the only teams that can be solid defensively while being exciting going forward are very slim and most of them are the biggest and richest in their league (juve, bayern, barca/Madrid)

that at should say bayern not dortmund

Juve are not rich - we spend more than over the past 7 odd years and our wage bill is much higher.

dortmund scored around 80 odd goals and conceded around 30 when they won the title.

At Madrid scored 70+ goals when they won the league.

If that isn't considered defending and attacking well, then I think your expectations are very high. We don';t need to score 80 plus goals to win the league. we scored 100 goals in 13/14 but still failed. We failed because we let too many in.
