So who does have an "identity" then? I'm not interested in other fake leagues, stick to this one please. There is Chelsea, whose identity is being a boring ****. Who else?

I think you've hit the nail on the head to be honest. I like Rodgers, I think he's a good manager, but he's wasted so much money, had so much time invested in to him, this is even his squad now and there's just no recognisable pattern to our play. Even in an interview after the match the other day he claimed "it will join together in the next few months", we had that last season, it's been three years and there's been marginal progress.

Not really. If Soton were in Spain or Germany they would have qualified for Champions League the last three years. Spain only really has 2 standout teams and Germany has one with several that rotate in.

England has 7 or 8 teams that could regulary make CL spots in any other European league.

Chelsea - defensively strong, disciplined and look to dominate the midfield, strong target man up front.

City - fast, aggressive football built on speed and movement.

Arsenal - pass, pass and more passing.

The managers at these 3 teams have stayed consistent with the philosophies and built a team and bought players who fit it.

Rodgers wanted possession football, then ditched it and let Suarez run wild, then we're back to possession and now we're long ball. Managers have a system which they work and tweak. It's good to be versatile but these managers change things marginally but their underling approach is still the same. Rodgers just completely changes - how can you expect the players to adapt in such radical style?

    No.
Arsenal and United have a realistic chance of winning the league. Valencia, Sevilla, Wolfsburg and Leverkusen don't.

We have had this debate. German teams are getting further than British clubs

No they actually don't - Arsenal and United have a small chance, just like the other teams. Chelsea and City are still the favourites and by some distance.

And that doesn't change the fact that we have a moron in charge.

You think Sevilla and Valencia have more chance / just as much chance of winning the league than arsenal and United?

the bookies strongly disagree with you

Also, Woy told us we were no longer the team we used to be and that we fans should know our place and not expect too much. That alone is enough to have him tied in a sack with a selection of rocks and pushed off the Pier Head.
At least BR talks the talk, in terms of where we want to be.

  11. Chelsea, Man Cot and Arsenal. All able to offer regular CL football and higher wages than us meaning they can sign who they want most of the time. Easy to stick to philosophy when it's like that.

Not really - you simply buy players who fit your style but are affordable and attainable. Just like we did with the likes of Coutinho, Sturridge etc etc.

The "etc etc" refers to Clyne, Gomez, Milner, Can, Firmino, Ings, Benteke etc

  15. Good mixture that clearly signal a set and consistent style there (that was Jimmy's argument)
