Talking about fighting in WW1, the UVF were the 36th ulster division and the YCV were the youth group.

Now, if I was singing about a guy joining a brigade fighting Kaiser Willhelm, why would I include a shouty line about a guy being deid who wasn't even born then?

It specifically mentions fighting "Rebels" which at no point were the post Austro-Hungarian Germannic Imperial troops ever described as such.
