City hopefully might be a blessing. We're in a rut and an evening game with a loud crowd against a team who don't stick 11 men behind the ball might kick start us back into gear. Either that or we'll get smashed and be left with CL quali to play for an Europa, urgh.
I dont understand why VAR didnt check Norgaard's offside when he crossed in to Toney, to me he looked offside. The checked the other one just prior to that goal, but Norgaard looked offside to me.
The replays looked dodgy, but I'm more concerned with our inability to defend properly the last few games and the toothless attacking display in terms of chance creation. Even if Brentford's goal was fortuitous, it was the least they deserved considering the opportunities they created. We barely tested Raya at all. I am worried that more teams are going to defend deep like Everton and Brentford where we dominate the ball but struggle to break teams down. If we don't find a solution to this soon, we're going to be slipping down the table.
For all the lack of offside for their goal, the least they deserved was a point. After Trossard's goal we sat back which is unusual for us this season, we brought the pressure on instead of applying more ourselves, it's a worry!
We played like we deserved to draw at best HOWEVER, it has now been confirmed we were potentially denied the 3 points by "HUMAN ERROR" according to Howard Webb! What we gonna get..."oppps sorry...." GREAT! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64616645
It's all very well Arteta bleating about the VAR decision but it should be pretty obvious to him that in the last 2 matches we have not played at all well. A number of players seem to have lost form at the same time which is worrying. A result against Man C would bring us back on track but if we play like we did against Everton and Brentford it ain't gonna happen. I would hate to see Gary Neville proved right !
