Ok, I’m going to admit it. My favourite book. Charlotte’s Web. Can’t beat childhood memories. I also loved the Willard Price kids adventure series... African Adventure, Elephant Adventure, Underwater Adventure, et al. I re-bought those for my kids.
I’m not going to make a unilateral ruling on OT threads, but you can’t say they aren’t allowed, that’s just not correct. We have a Cricket thread, we had one on the Rugby World Cup, and we have loads of others from time to time, some of which are allowed to run their course, and some which are not. I’ll stick my neck out and say the mods try to come to a consensus about which ones are shut down.
I teach English Literature to kids and teens, and Charlotte's Web is one of the books I use. I must have read it 20 times by now.
I had a spell of my life when I taught English Lit and used this too, as Susan says. Seeing street wise year 9 kids wrapped in parkas and Everton scarves (the school was in Croxteth) trying not to blub was always a highlight! Couple of film versions too. My teenage grandchildren often ask if it can be put on "as it's great for the little ones" and then sit and blub throughout as they 'reassure' dry eyed little siblings!
So the answer is yes, I am allowed to post the odd OT thread? Cool, that's all I wanted to know. Cheers. Could have just said that last night.
Btw Beddy I won't be reading that message, let's keep it to the open forum. Sorry to disappoint but I won't be leaving either so you'll have to ban me if you want rid.
No one has asked for this to be shut. Nobody. Fats alluded to a good idea earlier mind, just have threads and when people lose interest they drop off the page. Radical thought I know.
