Can we emulate our away win at Anfield last season and put a massive smile on all our faces. Hopefully the players should be really up for this one. I just really hope we do ourselves justice Ex Saints wise it looks like we may only be facing Lovren with Lallana out and Rickie likely to be only on the bench. For Saints its tricky with a number of possible combos particularly in the middle. I think its going to be too late for additional signings to start so I'll go with Boruc Clyne Fonte Yoshida Bertrand Wanyama Cork Davis JWP Tadic Pelle Subs Forster Targett Jos Taider Reed Ramirez Gallagher I know I've left Morgan out but just cant see him being ready. As we all know we are short of striking options so goals may be hard to come by. My heart says 1-0 Saints but my head tells me a 2-0 home win. Whatever the result I've been very impressed with Ron so far and I'm confident with a couple more signings we will have another good season. Bring it on. COYR!
Can't see us getting a result this time around - they have signed our best three players. 3-0 or 4-0 for me. Our season doesn't properly begin until transfer deadline day is done and dusted.
Sorry, you all have to leave here! You're all Liverpool fans now. Rodgers just submitted a bid of £20million to buy all the Southampton fans! Southampton accepted. This will be an interesting game- I really hope Southampton have a good season after all the trials you've been through during the summer and losing so many good players. [sorry] It will take a few games for the new-look Southampton to get back in the swing of things and adjust- so I think this will go Liverpool's way. That said, I'm sure Southampton will have something to prove and be extra motivated. Wish the Saints the best of seasons possible... ... starting with game 2!
Looking forward to the game, at this point it doesn't look like you can vent at Lallana but you can boo Lovren if you like. I still think it'll be close but hope we can sneak the 3 points.
We're probably going to get spanked. 4-0 Liverpool. We'll grow, but I can't see us putting up much of a fight here.
I don't think Cork will start the game (I wouldn't mind if Taider starts actually) and I have the feeling Forster will get the nod. But this is one we'll be putting down to 'experience'. 3-0 Liverpool. At a bit of a canter.
Yep don't think we have a scoobies. I hope it's a respectable score but i fear the worst. Anyway it's on Sky, we never do well on Sky
In my wildest dreams I hope we park the bus and escape with a draw, but realistically we are probably in for a good spanking. Oh how a few short months can change things, never-mind, onwards and upwards. Although I'm tipping Tadic to score a screamer in front of the Kop, should help him cement his position there for next year.
On paper we should win this one, on the pitch it's a different matter. Sorry we took your best players let's hope no celebrations if they score
With Suarez gone we will need performances from all over the pitch, with Sterling and Studge up top and Coutinho pulling the strings we have plenty to offer.
The season has come a few weeks early for us and even the most optimistic fans can't see us getting anything, but the pressure is off to a certain extent as we have nothing to lose, that could work in our favour. That team starts to look a lot better when you add Fraser, Morgan, Jay and a new CB to it.
I think that would be fair and the most respectful thing to do. In reality though probably unlikely a former Southampton player will score for us. Lallana is injured. Lambert will probably only play the last 20 minutes and only if we're already winning. Lovren is a defender (although certainly capable of scoring goals- he isn't our most likely goalscorer).
Yeah, don't know about this one. Judging by the preseason games, it's more likely to be something like this: Clyne Fonte Yoshida Bertrand ...........Wanyama ......Davis.........JWP Tadić................. Isgrove ............Pelle Koeman might be tempted to put Forster, Taider or Gaston it the first eleven, but I think it's better to start with players who played the most in preseason and are fitter.
