At least Swansea did everything in the open , Cardiff's " Backroom " dealings is the only reason they didn't go bust .
So you didn' t go bust? (Twice) and jenkins didn't step in after that? On a positive note, I see Britton has been appointed assistant manager. I can see that being a big help to you. A reconnection between the owners, management, the team and possibly the fans.
No it isn't , this is seen as a cynical move by the Board to deflect the flak which is starting to head towards them .,who's' going to boo Britton when he's a such a respected figure at the Club and what happens should Clement be given the sack , another coach comes in with his assistants leaving Britton where ?.It's also seen as a potential stop gap should Clement get the sack then perhaps Britton steps in with either Curtis or Toshack will take over on the cheap. We're being run as cheaply as possible which has now caught up with our ability to compete
and now this announcement Angel Rangel has been named Swansea City’s new club captain. The experienced defender was selected as the man to take the armband by boss Paul Clement after Leon Britton was made the Swans’ player-assistant coach. Rangel has been a superb servant for the Swans, having played more than 370 games for the club since arriving from his native Spain back in 2007. The right-back is popular inside the dressing room and among Swans fans, and is known as a fine professional who leads by example on the training ground. Rangel is the senior figure in the Swans squad and was seen by Clement as the obvious man to succeed Britton following his change of role. He has captained the team on a number of occasions in the past.
Hmm. Yep, get that. As you said, a different perspective from me as an outsider. Hope Britton doesn't get caught up as a pawn. He deserves better than that. How much of the on field issues are arising from off field issues? Do you think they started there or are they made worse by the boards current behaviours?
Great news for Rangel. Getting their ducks in a row for Clement's sacking and going with the cheap option. I've always wanted Britton, Rangel and Routledge to remain at Swansea when they finish playing or, when the time comes, we will have no recently retired players to maintain the ethos that is still in there somewhere. IMO we are already suffering from journeyman syndrome. But, I do not want to see Britton do a Monk and be an ex-Swansea City manager.
|Same feelings here but the "ethos " can only survive with the will of the so called DOF and that's not there anymore . I notice Monk has sent Léon a tweet congratulating him , I wonder what he really thinks although it wouldn't be hard to guess
Leon as Clement's No2 is a bad idea as there will be many contrasts of differences and we know who will have the upper hand.as they do not sing from the same hymn sheet unlike a Curtis/Leon partnership would bring.
I disagree that the season is fcuked up yet. We can still come out of the situation smelling of roses we are in as there are plenty of time left yet, All that needs to happen is to sack Clement and get rid of his coaching methods and we will improve and climb the table to safety.....
