So boring to watch, I really don't understand the obsession. That and Busquets is just a terrible human being in every sense, I genuinely hate the man!
I love the Freddie Mercury version with Montserrat Caballe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqhpUfkfODI
I think those questions a slightly leading, but understandable. I love Barcelona and their style of play, watching them is simply a joy, but their personalities do seem to let them down. However the villains last nigt were definitely Real Madrid. They set their team up to kick lumps out of Barca, particularly Pepe who was absolutely disgraceful. I don't understand how people can find watching Barca boring, particularly against such a high level of opposition, their passing is a joy to behold. Busquets is so unbelievably underrated in England, he is the best one touch passer of the ball in Barcelona, and probably the world, by admission of Xavi, Messi, Iniesta and co themselves. His first touch is incredible and he never needs to tackle as his positioning is near perfect. I'll admit that I find it embarrassing watching his and a lot of other players actions in Spain, but you have to remember that El Classico is a slight exaggeration of what normally happens as the players will do literally anything to win that match the rivalry is so strong. I think the mentality that some posters above have shown is partly why Barca have no competition on a wider stage. In England, our mentallity is all out attack and passion, in Spain the game is slower and more thought out. Tackling is considered a last resort action and it's only something that has to be done if either yours or your team mates touch wasn't good enough. I hope everyone can slowly get used to the idea of not lumping it forward quite so quickly, because we have a promising future, and it looks like we're aiming to go about it 'the right way'.
it isnt as exciting to watch as any english game. one team holding the ball for so long is very boring.
I'm amazed how many people say they are boring to watch... these are probably the people who scream at Kelvin to lump it forward at St Marys
^ do you watch spanish football?? i guarantee any other match which doesnt feature barcelona is more exciting.
I haven't questioned the excitement of Spanish football anywhere, just trying to offer an anology to what happens with Saints. My point is that I believe that people who find Barca style of keep ball boring are probably the people who shout at Kelvin to lump the ball forward because keep ball isn't exciting enough for them. A lot of fans get frustrated at St Marys when Kelvin tries to pass it out. I believe as soon as we lump it, then the nxt possession is 50:50
so you're making an assumption about me then there is no logical connection between finding barca boring to watch and wanting saints to play long ball. sorry.
Exactly, If you want to win the game then you need to have the ball. That's why when we take the lead we almost always see the game out. The other team can't get the ball off us. Kelvin does have his moments when choosing to pass the ball out that has my heart in my mouth, but it's in reality a much more productive use of the ball.
How can you guarantee that? It depends on what you find exciting I guess... Blood and thunder football of the EPL or a washed down version of that in La Liga's worse teams. OR Barcelona's 'boring' football, which is technically the best football i've had the pleasure to watch.
opinions differ, and someone referred to "keeping the ball" as being boring to which I logically applied it to incidences at Saints, and at no point did I say you did or wanted that..... Not getting into a moaning match, so I'll just move on.
I love Barcelona and the way they play, they do spoil it a bit the way they surround the ref and Busquet lets himself down by play acting. But to me they are the best side I have seen since the early 90's Milan team. Pepe was pathetic for Real Madrid in last nights game, faking being hit by Fabregas and then laying on the ground until they kicked it out so he could get treatment. Then to step on Messi's hand was nasty, I hope the Spanish FA look at that and ban him.
I also find them boring to watch, although my opinion is based on relatively few matches as I haven't watched them play that much. But some of the games I have seen...they just pass it for the sake of passing and had no threat going forward, everything was very slow. I appreciate that that is not always the case, but what I have seen was boring. JMO
I love Barcelona's style and they will always have a place in my heart for the way they took Man U apart and made them look like amateurs in last season's CL final. Truly heartwarming stuff.
Fast, end to end football doesn't have to be long ball. Remember the Germans at the world cup anyone? They lost out to Spain in an utterly soul destroying match. Nothing entertaining for about always passing sideways. When a good team sets up stifle the Spain/Barca style, the result is just plain ugly.
Busquets is a terrible human being for playing acting?. Seriously get a grip there are far worse people alive then a person that play acts.
Anyone interested http://www.incentivetravel.co.uk/ai...-direct-flights-to-barcelona-from-southampton
I didn't see anyone saying anything about booting the ball forward. Man Utd are a very attacking side they don't lump the ball forward, they pass and move but go for it. Saints DO NOT play like Barcelona. They do not get to the byline then turn around and pass it backwards then to the midifled then to the other side then to the other byline then backwards etc. Saints get to the byline and cross the ball. That is the difference. No problem with passing the ball around and playing keep ball but if you get to the byline or in a good position DO SOMETHING WITH THE BALL, not pass it back to the midfield.
