Stewart's doing the presser with Leonid this morning. please log in to view this image Stewart up first... “I think I've managed to get not too frustrated with the injury and take the positives out of it. I feel fresh mentally.” “The most challenging thing has been having to watch the boys not get the results. That did motivate me to get back quicker.” “To concede so late was disappointing at Norwich but we're proud with how hard we worked and kept them out for with ten men.” “It's a very long season and I don't feel it's a rush to prove to the supporters what I can do. There's plenty of games to do that.” “We're close to the away win and I'm confident we'll get the away win tomorrow. We're in a confident mood and looking forward to it” "I just want to stay injury free now and play as many games as possible. The most important thing is the team & getting the points" Slutsky up next... “We have a serious opponent but I'm looking forward to my first Yorkshire derby. I hope a lot of fans come to support us.” “The Championship is a very high level, quality competition and it will never be easy. You have be at a high level each match.” “The first reaction to Norwich was bad but after one day you can see lots of positives in our performance and a very good point.” “Kevin Stewart is ready. He played U23 match for 90 minutes and also Norwich so he is ready. Fraizer Campbell is also back with us.” “Kevin is a very important player for us and he always has my maximum support. Tomorrow he will play and I know what he can do.” “Jackson Irvine has a very difficult situation because of his international commitments but now he had a good game with U23s.” “He proved his level and now he is back in the squad. Whether he starts or not - I am not sure yet. We will see tomorrow.” “If the match finish after 87 minutes then we would be in a very different position. It's a problem of growing and concentration.” The end.
In case anyone is wondering Slutsky just sat there for 10 minutes with a huge grin from ear to ear and didn't say anything.
I can see Stewart in for Meyler and the rest as they started the last game. Campbell to come off the bench and get the winner.
I know hes been injured but id be inclined to star Campbell, he brings the other players in well and with another striker it causes more problems. stick him up top with Dicko
Nice to note that Leonid is aware of the significance of a Yorkshire derby and looking forward to it, he’s almost one of the locals.
Nice to actually have a game to think about , feeling quite confident about this one only a matter of time before we actually win an away game
"If the match finish after 87 minutes then we would be in a very different position." Well the match doesn't do that, you have to play all of it.
Looking forward to this.will be jumping off the train for pre drinks somewhere.last time I went it was a great day in till the game kicked off.lost 2-0. We will miss meyler but we can score first and this time hold on to it.
Lost 2-0 with some 'fans' goading our players at the final whistle enough to require one or two to be held back from jumping into the crowd, young Quinny looked ready to take on all-comers. A **** day all round, we filled the stand but didn't make enough noise to drown out the piss taking young pikeys on our left ....... we forget that you were here indeed!
Will this finally be the day I break my streak of 1 draw ( v Burnley ) and 11 defeats in my last 12 away games. My first Hull City game of the season so I have no idea how good or bad we are playing. Here's hoping we can have a good win... 3-1 to Hull City is my blind guess.
That's from last season only. :-( Though I always have a great day what ever the score and will get to more away games this season. And go to Scarborough when City are at home. Best of both worlds really at present *
That's pretty much how I recall that day. Thousands turned up hoping to see us promoted, but an early Barnsley goal absolutely killed the team and the atmosphere. It was one of the ****test away games I can remember.
