Bates and 30 players

At first when I heard the 30 players thing, I thought bullshit, but looking at it, this season, we've had more than 30 players in the squad.

Lonergran, Rackubka, Maik Taylor, Cairns,
Connolly, Thompson,
White, Taylor, Parker,
AOB, Bruce, Bromby, Kisnorbo, Lees, O'Dea (6 CBS...)
Snodgrass, Sam
Townsend, Rogers
Pugh, Brown, Varynen, Clayton, Nunez, Delph
Forsell, Paytner, Becchio, McCormack, Somma

Not forgetting Keogh that was here earlier.


That's 31 including Keogh. Obviously some of these players are on low wages like Taylor, Cairns and Thompson, but that's offset by AOB, Bromby, Bruce (all on good wages but not playing), Forsell and Paytner (not used) and Rackubka (who we did pay his wages at the start). Grayson wasted money.

 

yes he did big time, he coulda done with having more money from bates to help the cause but you still can't get away from the fact that Grayson did make a hell of a lot of bad signings. Not only that but they were bad as soon as we got them rather than even being worth it for a year.

 

I too believe Grayson wasted a chunk of what little money he had but remember with an 11.5k cap we are always going to struggle to attract a few and let us not allow Grayson wasting a small amount to hide the FACT that Bates could and should have been giving Grayson a bigger budget than he had.

 

Did Grayson really sign Paul Rachubka, Paul Connolly, Leigh Bromby, Andy O’Brien, Alex Bruce, Michael Brown, Ramon Nunez, Lloyd Sam, Billy Paynter, Mikael Forssell and Mika Vayrynen

No wonder he got the tin-tac. Bates should be lynched for allowing him to sign such a sack of ****e

 

Yes he did !!!!!!!!

 

Stage 1- SG wants/needs a player
Stage 2- Bates says fine as long as hes free (and therefore, in most cases, pretty rubbish)
Stage 3- The player puts in several awful performances
Stage 4- SG has to panic buy to replace the bad player
Stage 5- 'Deadwood' is built up in the squad, and no club wants to take them off our hands

This wouldnt happen if bates just gave the manager enough budget to sign some decent players! BATES OUT!

Thompson, C. Taylor and L. Turner are not no academy terms - they are on professional contracts, as are Cairns, N. Turner, McCann and Payne
