RIP Batman & (for younger) the Mayor of Quahog, Adam West! Thanks for all the memories Some great toungue in cheek quotes from the saviour of Gotham City, but few better than: Robin: "Holy molars! Am I ever glad I take good care of my teeth!" Batman: "True. You owe your life to dental hygiene."
Definitely, but he wouldn't have won with his A game. He wouldn't have won with anyone else's A game.
You're right, but he might have made it a bit harder for Nadal. Nadal did seem to have the Midas touch today though
This was definite 'appeal to the engineer in you' bait. And I bit ... I was at WHL at the weekend. You could see that nearly all the seats in the east stand have yet to be removed. However, I could see large bits of 'metal' resting on some of those seats. If said metal is stuff like corrugated iron etc, not so heavy. If worse, then some of those seats may get badly damaged by the weight. Given how quickly they got stuck into trashing the west stand, I would not be surprised if something similar caused damage to your seat.
Fascinating, eye-opening short documentary that gives an insight into the lives of the 'also rans' from major footballing academies. Well worth 18 minutes of your time...
In news that will send Lidls into a meltdown, Rachel Riley has decided not to renew her contract on Friday Night Football. Spurs fans are being blamed, as she got some stick on social media after her comments on the West Ham defeat. Nothing to do with the programme being crap, her being rather pointless eye candy or Sky using her inappropriately, of course. She hasn't actually said anything publicly about why she's left, nor has her agent or Sky themselves. It was definitely us, though. We scared her off. Bottle job.
i'll be honest, i think the fact that Tottenham made a formal complaint to her employer about the remarks is pretty outrageous, and utterly pathetic. a media own goal, if ever there was one. and any muppets who gave her any serious abuse online certainly aren't worthy of defending, imo. btw i haven't watched the show, but presumably there are good grounds on which people are saying the only reason she was on it, was because she was good looking ? on what basis have people concluded she had no genuine interest in or knowledge of football for example ?
If the club did complain, then that's very weak and rather pointless. Did they, though? Social media abuse is similarly ****, but it's utterly inevitable, honestly. That doesn't excuse it, of course. She clearly has an interest in football, but she just didn't really work in the format, which was also poor. Sky lost interest in it pretty quickly. There was a five month gap before we played West Ham. I think that they were trying for some kind of matey, pub atmosphere thing, but they missed badly. The show was far more to blame than she was, in my opinion.
Always good to have our celebrity fans repping us ...unless it's Iain Duncan Smith or Richard Littlejohn. They can **** right off if they so much as thing of @ing us.
