I've spoken to loads of Forest fans about Davies, not one of them had a bad word to say about him! Walking round the stadium with a few when they visited us the other week all of the group I spoke to would swap him for Cotterill. Proven record, has credibility and experience, so might not be such a bad move after all? Thoughts
Why do I have a vision of Captain Smith walking the sloping decks of the Titanic admiring the new deck-chairs whilst the lifeboats are lowered?
I read something earlier that stated in 5 seasons as a manager in the Championship, he has never failed to get a team to the play-offs. Like him or not, you can't argue that, that is not impressive.
Not a chance.Surely ? ffs, he had one good season when he fluked Derby Country up to the PL. Then got sacked for being out of his depth. Plus if the Allams think that Nick Barmby is outspoken well they dont know Billy Davies. This rumour(but gaining speed in the midlands) IF TRUE just shows how clueless The Allams really are. Utter madness.
An Article on CI says Billy Davies is not the preferred choice to be the next manager. They know who it is but won't say.
It's got to be Mick McCarthy. An experienced head, Yorkshire born, vast experience and good with young players.
Burnsy and the others on Radio Blunderside say Davies has been touted around the KC for weeks - also BD would not confirm or deny that he was in line to be our new boss - read into that what you will
I think he is a decent manager but like anyone he will need a decent budget, having said that on city independent there saying its not BD, time will tell i think Adam pearson will be a bigger loss
He (allegedley) was the Allams first choice when Nigel Pearson left but they went for Barmby because it was what the fans wanted and probably a bit of persuasion from AP. Im not sure why AP left but if the Allams are adamant they want Davies then it may have contributed to AP leaving.
