2018/19 is almost upon us! How are we all feeling!? Well, first off we start with a new era. Mick McCarthy's 5.5 year reign came to a rather sticky end - however, how often does a manager stay that long in the modern era?! I think we've still only had about 15 managers or so in our clubs history, fantastic. Speaking of which, I hope people give Hurst time. Rome wasn't built in a day and we're clearly short right now. An interesting summer transfer window - and a clear change in strategy. Just the one loanee to date, with four lower league players coming. If they're all as good as Harrison looked vs West Ham, more of the same please. Also a very interesting season for the kids - Dozzell, Nydam, Downes, Woolfenden I'm looking at you. Plus plenty of others, Morris, Emmanuel, Kenlock, etc etc! Quite a batch this..... Still not sure we can get anywhere near top 10 if you sell your best players, go lower league for all signings. Not sure about that. Waghorn appears on his way, Connolly + CCV will be missed in particular, Didsy / Celina also from last season ( when fit / playing well ) Think we may well win this - and perhaps need to looking at our first 5. I think we'll line up like this - Bartman Spence / Woolfenden / Chambers / Knudsen Skuse / Downes Edwards Nydam Sears Harrison Subs - Gerken / Kenlock / Donacien ( will go straight in for Rotherham ) Dozzell ( short on fitness / no rush it's a marathon not a sprint / Chalobah / Roberts Whether Waghorn is still here for the game or not, don't see him being risked for a late transfer. Worth a lot to us. Garner injured / Ward suspended / Huws + Bishop could get fit we'd be looking alright. Clearly a striker short at the minute. Not thrilled about Sears wide left either but he started v West Ham and we're light in options. Think we'll win this, but we'll need to score 2. Wobbly backline. 2-1 towen. 20.555 MAY be going so if anyone fancies a beer gimme a shout on here and be good to sort out
You know the season is upon us when Westy posts a preview. Good stuff. I also think this will be a narrow 2-1 win with a few mistakes and lapses of concentration throughout. I liked what we played against West Ham, I just hope our young-ish team can replicate the same playing style when the pressure is on in a competitive match. New boys Harrison and Edwards both to score. Predicted line up is: Bart Spence - Chambers - Donacien - Knudsen Dozzell - Skuse - Nydam Edwards - Harrison - Sears Attendance - 22 / 23k
I'll be there with my Dad and Brother in law. I'm going to be pessimistic and feel the promoted Club momentum may help Rovers to a narrow win, 1-2
Now that there’s a chance of some attacking football, I will be attending my 1st game for 2 seasons. I’ll go for a 3-2 win
I think i'm 100% likely to be there. I'm doing a semi weird role in Ukraine tomorrow, but flying back from Kharkiv to Gatwick. If not absolutely hanging out my ass a friend has said he'll drive - if so - I'd be only to happen to say hi to a few of of you given the chance. Will write on here tomorrow but very keen to go.
Plans have fallen through (thankfully) so I'm now going to the football! Although I'm only going with one lad (and I'm meeting him at the ground just before kick off) so if anyone does fancy a meet up and a beer, drop me a message. I live in Stowmarket so I'll be getting a train in. Really looking forward to the weekend now!
Sports channel gaffer. We are not very good but last 15 better, playing too many high balls to Harrison who aint won any of them. Sears is ****, need Doz on imo

No EFL f...ingIFollow service, hopeless support line, seemd to have forgotten I regularly suscribe...bloody hell, what is this world comingt to! Grumpy old git...and we are losing the opener! Someone cheer me up please!
