After seven points from five games in October, Blackburn now find themselves two places and one point behind us, in 12th place. Their top scorer, Bradley Dack, has an impressive 8 goals so far, 6 in the league. As for us, after a cracking month, where we picked up more points than any other team in England (13!), we go into this game within touching distance of the playoffs. A win could even take us up to 5th, but lets keep it real, a loss and we could be down to 14th. Still, lets try and keep the good run going and see where it takes us. From the official; QPR are looking to win four league games in a row for the first time in almost five years as the R’s head up to Lancashire to face Blackburn Rovers. The R’s last achieved the feat under Harry Redknapp back in January 2014 when Rangers beat Doncaster, Ipswich, Huddersfield and Bolton. The poor start to the season means that despite Rangers excellent form they are still only placed 10th in the league table, two places above Blackburn. Rovers gained promotion to the Championship after finishing runners-up in League One last season. Mowbray’s side have made a solid return to the second tier of English football and know a victory will see them leapfrog QPR in the table. They have already recorded excellent wins over Brentford, Stoke and Leeds whilst also picking up impressive draws with Aston Villa and most recently West Brom at the Hawthorns. Blackburn have good experience throughout their side but their key man is undoubtedly Bradley Dack who has already bagged eight goals and five assists this season. The attacking midfielder won League One Player of the Year last season and has so far shown no issues with adapting to playing at a higher level. Those travelling to Blackburn will probably be aware Ewood Park has not been a happy hunting ground in recent seasons. In 2017 the R’s were defeated 1-0 thanks to a late Sam Gallagher goal in a match where Conor Washington was denied an opener, despite the ball looking to have crossed the line. You have to go back to 1999 for Rangers last win at Ewood Park with the men from W12 picking up just two points from a possible 12, and twice being knocked out of the FA Cup in the time since. COME ON YOU R'SSS!!!
We have now given ourselves some comfort and breathing space so is no longer a must win game and a draw is not a bad result . This takes pressure off immensely , good situation to be in at the moment and they will be worried about us as our form is so good .
Amid the sudden surprising interest in pink the away kit. Does anyone expect any changes to our very stable starting eleven of the last three games?
No unless there are injuries & Cameron is 50/50 to play, it wouldn’t surprise if they swapped Hemed for wells.
I agree that these are the “cosmetic” type of changes that may occur. It is rather refreshing and almost very “old school” to have a policy of “don’t change a winning team”.
Tough one. Haven't done well there in years even when they were dog ****e. If we are to show signs of consistency and development rather than just a purple patch a win there would be a real boost. Also on the back of three wins in a row, the last two against decent opponents, it's a good test of how well Stevie Mac can knock out any signs of complacency by the team "Don't change a winning team." Depends who you've got. It's never really applied to City and the other galacticos but know where you're coming from. Perhaps more apt to say don't change a winning formation or attitude. We may not have two men for each position and not a reason for example not to put on subs earlier especially if the game is already won
It's a must win game for me, they all are. The best way, maybe the only way to avoid the financial / economic problems that are stacking up with yet another season in League 1 or the Championship, is an unlikely promotion. We are closer now table wise than we've been in a long while, so we need to keep the current run going as long as we can.
I'd take a point if offered now......... Not one of our happiest haunting grounds, there again not many are, but we are the form team in the division along with Brum, (who'd thunk it?) with 4 wins and a draw in last 5 games so should be no shortage of confidence going there.......
The key success factor in the Championship is “consistency”. It is a like a marathon. On Saturday, we should aim for a win, but if we hand a bad day, then get a hard earned draw.
There’s an article on the Beeb website total about the Arse under Dick Emery and how they’d be down in 17th place if only the half-time results counted. Being bored, I had a look to see where we’d be in the Champio on the same basis. Top of the world, Ma... https://www.fctables.com/england/championship/first-half/
We're Top of The League!, We're Top of The League, We're Queens park Rangers, We're Top of The League.....
Suspect that Scowen will start and Cameron will replace when he gets tired...heaven forbid, he replaces Cameron with Cousins though. Do not mind who starts between Hemed or Wells as long as one starts and the other finishes. At the moment all is well in the worls. After a perfect October (3 home/2 away)...lets hope for a similar November where we have 3 away and only 1 home match
Current form table (last 6 games) doesn't look too shabby either, only Brum and Sheff Utd above us........and Brentford are bottom. https://www.twtd.co.uk/league-tables/competition:championship/form/matches:6/type:home-and-away
Cameron on the Official's Podcast this week is well worth listening too for his very hands on description of what we have been doing on the pitch the last few games.
