This lad has had a couple of first team games in the EFL. 18 is youngish at some clubs, 23 is young and just learning their trade to some of our fans.
Yeah I get what you're saying but it was still 100 times better than Rotherham, which I would have described as drab, among other things
It's a thing I don't really get. If they're good enough let them play, there's plenty of examples of youngsters being given their chance and taking it.
Thought he handled it very well. I suppose all the appearances for Oldham have him plenty of experience so after getting over the jitters he must surely have had about being in the starting 11 at such a high professional standard, just revert to type. Excited to see more of him. Didn’t look out of place.
Oh just remembered. Jimmy Saville is one of our own according to the inbred lancastrians with the drum in the stand next to us. I'd have loved them to enlighten us on his links to Hull, as it's not something I'm aware of!
The numpties always sing about "Leeds scum" at the cricket, even though most of the Yorkshire crowd would agree
Watched it all. You are right, they were. And Pukki was totally anonymous up front. Boro looked solid all over but not that special; it was just one of those strange games from which I wouldn't read much into the scoreline.
Didn’t see the game but talking to a couple of Rover’s supporters in our hotel, they were impressed by Harry Vaughn
Take the point and move on to the final 4 games of the season. The last 15 minutes were mind numbing. Why just hoof it out without an outlet? It comes straight back at you... Same with corners. if we leave at least one up, it means the oppo will also keep one back. Net zero difference and provides an outlet for a quick break. For all the tippy tappy football we're seeing, we lack directness, which Rosie needs to fix over the summer. Vaughan started slowly but made himself known in the second half, he could be a handful. We seem to do well with home grown left wingers... Rovers missed a couple of sitters, on another day it could have been a hiding.
I think that's exactly right, and it's why it's so important that we avoid it as much as possible. We do it a lot less these days with this new style of play but we did regress to it in stoppage time which I think is natural and usually happens to a team that's hanging onto something, though I would like to see us eventually become good enough on the ball to cut it out altogether and be able to keep the ball even when we're hanging onto a result.
