This is what he posted tonight Arnold Very moving If you can't read the words on the right he posted them as a photo so if you click on the picture it will take you to them both hopefully
Jermain Defoe has restored my faith in humanity and what elite sports people can do outside of their day job. They both had a really positive impact on each other and fair play to Jermain who obviously was a major factor in providing Bradley with lots of amazing memories and vice versa.
RIP little guy. You fought the good fight and are now safe in the Lords arms with no more pain. Bless you Bradley. And respect to Jermain Defoe for those beautiful words.
If I was Jermain Defoe I wouldn't want the SPOTY award. What he has done is fantastic, and restored a lot of people's faith in the modern day footballer, but I don't know if I could accept an award for what he had done - show compassion, be a role model etc. which should be part of every human being's DNA anyway.
I do get you, but maybe it would send a message to other sportspersons to do the right thing with their celebrity status.
Welled up a little. Bless you Bradley, what an impact you have made in your very short life. Rest In Peace little fella.
George Caulkin @CaulkinTheTimes Jermain Defoe will be presented with the North East Personality of the Year trophy, in association with @SBRFoundation, at the NE Football Writers’ Assoc. annual awards night on Feb 25. Jermain’s friendship with Bradley Lowery touched all of us profoundly.
