McLaren’s transfers need to be questioned too. Wells has been ok. Hemed has been crap. Signing old players was always a risk so while Cameron and Rangel were great for a bit they can’t be considered successes and no doubt all four are on very good money.
Brentford are the perfect example of good scouting via the Moneyball system, they've sold a number of decent players yet always seem to find replacements, mainly from abroad, that fit their system. There's definitely joined-up thinking that maintains a decent level there. To be honest we're not really showing any great enterprise in our recruitment and we don't seem to have a real playing ethos to follow, we're generally crap to watch...
3 - bloody 0. We are a really strange outfit. Granted we beat Leeds on Tuesday, good job they weren't in the mood like they were last night against west Brom. Then get beat to our rivals. We just dont seem to make sense as a team.
It was a poor performance. Didn't feel or look like a team.... No linking up... No threat .... No reaction. Can't argue about losing though 3 was harsh. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Think l'm at a stage on a Sunday morning where l refuse to get upset having lost. The wheels have fallen off and it seems, SM mojo is all but gone. We certainly have been getting smacked, lately. As mentioned by others, it seems Brentford have a real system in place and they probably have only a fraction of the coaching / management staff that we have. Probably no DoF either. Just shows, if you have the right people in place, you need less of them. Very disappointing indeed.
The Rangers just didn't turn up today. How can you not get yourself up for a local derby? Oh well, at least I won't wake up as a Brentford fan tomorrow ... please log in to view this image
God those goals were frustrating. Never a pen, if anything Hall was fouled. Not sure what Lumley was doing charging off his at full pelt, he's an odd keeper capable of brilliance and calamity. And obviously we get a deflected goal to finish us off.
It did look like a foul on Hall and never a penalty.Yet somehow Keith Stroud is left alone to officiate at this level regardless of incompetence. It wasn't down to just the ref though. QPR were poor and were never going to win this one regardless who was the ref. We were very flat and simply weren't up for it. A common feature at this ground despite the manager. JFH, IH and SMc have all had similar outcomes in recent seasons. It's like deja vous as we watch QPR after QPR manager cross the pitch after yet another defeat at this ****hole of a ground. A complete and utter shambles. The only saving grace is that SM didn't offer us out like Holloway did as he made his way to the dressing room of shame.
Please expand on last paragraph since that is news to me! As to the game and our position, we are a perverse bunch! FFP (Well actually the folly of Fernandes and Co) has killed any prospect of decent footie for at least another season or two. I'm just grateful for the points we do have but we can't go on another six run losing streak!!
You don’t need to spend loads of money to not play like that. That was horrendous. No attacking intent at all apart from hoping for the best at set pieces. However I’ve just seen the penalty again and that really is as bad a decision as you’ll ever see and we’ve had some absolute whoppers this season. And all from a big lump over the top too. Until then we were crap but in the game without them looking up to much either.
Missed this game as I was flying, but it's strange we seem to have been so bad after doing as well as we did against Leeds.
The Leeds game will have taken a fair bit out of them but Brentford lost rather limply up north so can’t really blame that. It was a tactical clusterfuck along with several well below par individual performances. Even with that we were sufficiently sucking the life out of the game until the Keith Stroud show got going.
I thought we were in for a tough time when Stroud was named as ref, you wonder how half-wits like him are still on the roster...
