Wurzels expecting a big crowd. 20k + tickets sold already. Hopefully there will be a lot of season tickets ripped up again. All not well in Pearsonland at present. Publicly dressing down players, poor form and a 6.2 thrashing at Fulham. Looks like a large crowd more in hope than expectation.
If we're to distance ourselves from a relegation threat, these are games we need to start winning. Lets see how our 'new style' delivers. We need Watters and Moore fit and our new loans to hit the ground running. Oh, and Vaulks and Bacuna to be left out.
Good morning and welcome to the Hilts motivational speech. A couple of new faces, an improved performance last time out and against a team who also struggle at home. You never know.
Not sure how much of a happy camp it is across the bridge (or down the road from my perspective)... Think they have one or two returning players but there's also been a falling out or two and a bit of a revelation that even pre-pandemic it seems the club were losing around £420k a week.... That can't be conducive to morale or be giving Pearson any kind of warm fuzzy feeling that he'll be given the tools to continue the rebuild they so clearly need (sounds like a familiar situation eh? ). Hopefully as per comments above, a couple of new faces and a few marginally improved performances will help inspire us to victory.
Bristol are in a mess and don't seem to know which way to go unlike us where it's patently obvious where our problems lie. They should have the advantage with a manager who was appointed last season, had the summer to sort a few things out and apart from his brief time off with illness, has been there all this season. Morison by comparison has only had about a dozen games and is playing the hand he was dealt. He's only recently inherited the Warnock/Harris/McCarthy legacy and needs time (and personel) to change direction - Pearson has far more time and opportunity to sort their problems. Not followed them closely this season having our own issues to worry about, but check in now and again to gauge the feelings. Some odd performances have brought them points but generally the general mood has been negative. Nothing to choose between us up till now, but I'm hoping the new faces at the club will help swing the day and kickstart a climb away from our current lowly position.
Our camp is divided (as usual) between those like myself who expected a bit more from a Pearson side (I just can’t fathom out what our ‘style’ is) and those who continue to blame LJ and Ashton for leaving poor Nige a ‘crap’ squad and no money. Our mission now is about survival and we are fortunate that with the points deductions and a couple of worse teams I think we’re just about safe - probably you lot are too for the same reason.
Understand Moore not fit but Watters is. Doyle has been training so expect right him to start. Same back 6. Ralls Doyle Wintle Watters Harris I suspect he’ll start with Collins though, but surely not Vaulks or Bacuna.
That midfield actually may have a bit of promise. Certainly more mobility and fingers crossed, penetration. If we can get Drameh and Ng overlapping too we could start to cause a few teams problems. My only concern is how susceptible we'll be to getting hit on the break if our wingbacks are high up the pitch. Our CBs aren't particularly mobile are they
Id be suprised if Doyle started. Reckon one of Bacuna Pack or Vaulks will be alongside Wintle and Ralls. Collins will also start. Id axe the 5. Ng is no wing back. Smithies Drameh Morrison MacGuiness Ng Ralls Wintle Doyle Davies Harris Colwill Obviously if Moore is fit which it appears he isnt he starts. Davies bench.
