Slave traders were not necessarily racists, they were buying and selling a commodity at a profit, i doubt if they cared what colour they were.
Shocking trade in humans that has gone on for centuries, pretty sure nobody is tearing down statues of Roman Emperors, oh, and those Ottomans took a fair few people as slaves (as did the Egyptians).
Like i said, the world has moved on, go blow up the Pyramids or destroy the Colosseum if you feel that strongly.

If you were involved in the very specific industrialised slave trade of black Africans, which these statuesque men were, then you were a racist.

The White slave trade? Which one? The Italians were quite adept at it back in the day. The Arabs had gathering white folk from these Isles down to a fine art too.
