Starting coming into it late in the 1st half. All to play for in the 2nd.need a big improvement.not sure this formation works for us
Not too bad so far, actually. McCarthy and Vestergaard shoring up the defense. Lemina showing his class here and there. Armstrong is active. Austin doing some good Austin like hold up play while looking to poach. We are showing more attacking intent if not organization. In fact, if anything, they probably need to hold up play a bit more at times. I think Burnley played better than us over all, but not to the extent that it worries me long term about the quality in the side. We could win this with the right halftime adjustments. Now we see what Hughes can do. Maybe Elyounessi for Redmond (who has looked somewhat tricky tbf, but is probably the most guilty of not holding the ball sometimes when he should). Overall needs some improvement, but I feel like we are seeing a few positive signs.
So much more positive since the subs, players getting forward, little triangles etc. Well done to sparky for making the changes. Even if Burnley were to nick one, would rather that with us actually having a go, than watch 5 at the back for 90 mins.
Radio saying Ings missed a couple of chances but much better since changes. Also that Lemina has been the best player on the pitch, is that fair?
Harsh on Ings, definitely hasn’t “missed” any badly. Couple of half chance difficult headers. I’d say Vestergaard has been our best player, absolutely solid
