very much reminds me of the early days of Les Ferdinand, a beast of a player, raw, but fast and strong. He will put the wind up a few defences next season

His pace and strength caused Burnley's defenders all sorts of problems. First time after he'd just come on a Burnley player ambled across to collect a ball thinking he had good time and not knowing how quick Armstrong is. Armstrong came from behind, ran past him, took the ball, the defender hacked him down from behind and we got a FK in a dangerous position and the defender a yellow. Armstrong got a yellow later himself. He also used his pace to tackle and win a ball back. I've never seen him play a full 90, doubt he'd last that long but he's great coming off the bench late on like yesterday.

Would that be HP sauce or something a bit stronger? Maybe Igor's favourite - Old No.7?:emoticon-0105-wink:

Watched it on ITV at 10:30 last night. First game on and Jamie Mackie was on the show too!

Great to hear! I know his finishing isn’t the best at the minute but that will come. Just pleased he got half an hour because he really makes a difference. 5 or 10 minutes at the end is such a waste. Incredible he hasn’t had more game time given how slow and predictable we’ve been upfront.

Dykes and Armstrong is an obvious front two in a 442.

    Yup.
But we’ve only started once with those two upfront. And won.

Martin is fine to throw on for the last ten minutes if desperate- as he showed yesterday with that peach of a header. But that’s the only time I want to see him

Assuming we stay up and assuming Armstrong still our player then he will be great for us next season.

My mate was sat with Dykes mum behind him. He said she was really emotional after the game.

G'day 999. Just wondering if she was sitting with the general public or your friend has a special pass to sit with the relatives of the players and management. Either way, hope he or someone gave her a congratulatory hug, at least to comfort her.

"He has his own ways of getting us up for games".....
That's quite a telling remark, if it's true that Dickie was one of those taking the piss.

And Ainsworth will need to bring in his own players to buy into it
