SWANSEA CITY HANDED NEWPORT DRAW IN CARABAO CUP Swansea City will face Newport County in the first round of the Carabao Cup. Steve Cooper's side have been handed an all-Welsh draw in the southern section, and will take on Michael Flynn's League Two outfit at Rodney Parade. The tie is set to take place on the weekend of September 5, although there is dispensation for clubs to play their first-round game prior to the start of the international break on August 31 if they can mutually agree a new date.
Wasn’t that the game when the Lino got hit by a coin on the back of the head by Swans fans although we were all behind the goal......went to that spytty place a few times over the years for Mickey Mouse cup ties and there were some strange sights...some of their supporters I mean...in a way I am glad that this is a behind closer doors game as there could be fun and games off the pitch at the Newport rugby ground...
It was the FA cup game and it was allegedly thrown by a Newport "fan" ,I think they were cited by the FAW because of it .Anyway we won they didn't which is always pleasing
Years ago I went to see these games against Newport and there always were Scumdiff thugs stirring it up
