Just a little negativity of my own. Dickie was pretty stupid picking up a booking that was totally unnecessary. With our susceptibility to injuries the last thing we need is yellow card accumulation.

Okay... going to get slatted for this post. But let's just remember, Cardiff are probably currently the worst team in the championship. I think they are about 2 weeks from their lowest point and on the up ...but let's not get too carried away It was a good time to meet them. We controlled them very well until the last 10 minutes. We got a good goal, we didn't let them have much of a sniff for 80 minutes. We were a bit low on confidence and very effected by injuries. It was a great 3 points.. But it is not the start of a glorious run. I will be more impressed no gob smackingly surprised if we can get anything from Blackpool on Saturday. Our season run will start after the international break. ...I hope
Last night was set up for a Rangers loss. Cardiff not won in 4 years or scored in the first half for 7. All set up to be 3-0 down by half time and lose 3-2, with a blatant penalty not given in the 97th minute. But we won, just proving we are a better unit. Any win in this league is a good win, especially away from home, just look at Preston’s win away at Bournemouth
Blackpool will be a very tough game. They have been achieving impressive results mixed with disappointing results (sound familiar). Anything could happen. Has all the hallmarks of a draw. Or a loss. Or a win. Who the hell knows in this league!
If we can't go on a half decent run in the next four fixtures (appreciate that Blackpool and Luton are performing above expectations) then we don't have a realistic chance at the playoffs. I think with our away form this year we should be optimistic about the Blackpool game.
It was a good win. But it still concerns me how ready Warburton was to tell the lads to park the bus after going only 1-0 up. Has he not learned anything this season? Is he living in a dream land where he thinks our defence setup is solid?
Or you could just look at it and think wow with this squad and non existent budget we are fifth in the table, Warbles is doing a magnificent job, we are in dreamland!
I didn't see any real bus parking until the last 10 minutes. As with last Friday, Dykes had several good chances to seal the game which he spurned and the back three looked very comfortable while our excellent high press was maintained. Before that there was the usual level of nonsense that pretty much every away team in the Championship indulges in when they have a lead and which referees continually fail to even consider let alone try to stamp out (Dieng's ability to fall to the ground in stages after the simplest of saves being a typical example). QPR would be mugs to be the only club in the Championship playing with a straight bat and it really falls to the football authorities to sort it out.
Agree with this. It seems to coincide with the removal of Chair from the game. We always add a deeper midfielder and the whole unit drops back ten yards. From this point we never have an out ball and it constantly comes back from every clearance. Just want to get something off my chest here. What is it with these teams that have long throwers that it is now deemed ok to have towels positioned for ball drying? If you are not wearing it then you shouldnt be allowed to use it in my book. If I was Warburton I would take a bucket of water around the perimeter and give each one of them a good soaking!
True. But it could have very easily have had a change of manager effect. It was a good and efficient win, and could very easily have been a banana skin for us. More of the same on Saturday please!
Would love us to go to Blackpool on Saturday, play like 1980's Ajax and hammer them 5-0. But will settle for a scrappy, hard-fought ( even lucky ) 1-0 win all day long.
Sat in the home end with a good mate who's a season ticket holder. I don't think he would have been booked if he hadn't ignored the ref. Bit like the Liverpool game by the sounds of it, turns back only after the fourth blast of the whistle, so ref pulls out the yellow. Think he would have only had a word if he'd responded straight away and apologised! First half, home fans view was it was nice to see their side trying to play rather than McCarthy hoof ball, despite being a goal down, second half not pretty from either side!
With all due respect, my opinion remains the same. I appreciate that we're in a much better position than we have been over recent years. But it is annoying to me to see improvements that could be made with what we have that are not being made. Some of the errors that we are making seem very obvious at times, especially considering that some of these errors are ones we haven't got right as a club over a few seasons. I want better out of our team and our manager. Just my opinion, though.
No respect due to me whatsoever. It’s all part of the entertainment to think you know better than the manager/coach/owners etc, and has been for football fans since the dawn of time……
