Same old boring football, the players brought in aren't good enough and the tactics were abysmal. We have serious problems and having 11 players out is no excuse. They are a 4th tier side and a poor one at that and we never looked like scoring. Embarrassed to be a City fan right now...
To answer your question Hobbs played well, both goals where offside, which even their manager agreed with. The next person to say he is poor on the ground i will shoot, his job is not to run into the oppositions half and play the final ball. Everything stemmed from the fact noone was willing to take the lead role and dominate the game Hobbs and Chester became our playmakers.
Good on Hobbs always hope he does well - great character! Ive noticed youve started to experience the old Fryatt lack of confidence to shoot...i hope NP would sort that one out for ya! Still its only a worthless cup so i wouldnt be too disheartened - i wouldnt have cared too much if we lost to Rothers
What a ****ing stupid thread. Get a grip mate, it's the League Cup - we were abysmal tonight, but it's obvious that we don't give a **** about this mickey mouse competition. Look what it did to Brum and the Gooners after they were both in the final last year.... The performance was very commenable against Blackpool, and finishing aside, I thought we totally out did the opposition. If you think two losses mean that we suddenly become 'embarrassing', and that the boss has to go, then you need to stop following a football team full stop
Easy to say coming from a Leicester fan with what is pretty much a PL team There's nothing to fill us with any confidence at the moment. Best we can hope for in my opinion is mid table!
He's the same guy who posted the 'Hobbs is ****' thread after one game into the season, ought to change his name to 'Kneejerk Response' or just jerk maybe.
is my memory fading, or did we only make 1 sub? it wasnt working all game, why didnt he change something, give a young lad a try....why wasnt hobbs chucked up top for the last ten minutes, so we could launch some balls up, as he was the only one over 5 foot in our team...reminded me of so many games last season, when the win was there for the taking and no ****ing effort was made to go for it..game just allowed to die a slow death!
Here's my player ratings; East 5/10 reasonably tidy performance not ready for Championship just yet Chester 5/10 looked composed Hobbs 4/10 not comfortable on the ball Dawson 5/10 age not on his side Devitt 1/10 weak, weak weak get shut McKenna 7/10 tidy, good control not creative enough Harper 4/10 can't think of anything he did Pusic 4/10 as above, played better at Chesterfield Simpson 2/10 always pointing the wrong way why? Fryatt 3/10 whoever has been coaching this lad over the summer wants sacking, afraid to shoot, takes too many touches and is easily crowded out.
I may disagree with you elsewhere about Hobbs tonight, but this point i totally agree with you on. We where not going to break them down in a month of Sundays so why not do something different and make a couple of substitutes, could they really have done any worse than Mckenna and Harper?
Maybe give it a dozen games and if we are propping up the table then a thread like this is appropriate, not a micky mouse cup game and an unlucky defeat. Get a grip.
The whole "we're only two games in" argument would be a lot more valid if the management hadn't already had a year in charge. He's replaced the full squad, and guess what? They're ****ing ****e. We'll get to the last game of the season and we'll get "Well, we're only 45 games in, I'm confident Nigel's boys will get their first goal tomorrow". Pearson needs to go before he causes any more irreversible damage to our club.
exactly the point we where making on the way out....ive made no secret of the fact i am no pearson fan, and games like tonight do nothing to change my opinion...it may be a nothing cup, but thats the ideal chance to let loose and try things, even if he secretly wanted to go out, he cant even fake having a go, for the fans sake....the fact we are still relying on barmby to inject any life into a game is also a worry
