https://www.insidermedia.com/insider/national/championship-clubs-losses-total-more-than-200m Probably nothing new but still vaguely interesting. I thought we would feature more prominently and no mention of us and FFP which I thought was odd. Was this the year of the £60m write off from the board? You can massage the figures to fit whatever 'facts' you like but one thing seems consistently true. You can't win promotion without being in significant debt to do so. Even leaner times ahead.
In terms of wages, 12th-placed QPR shelled out the most in their failed quest for promotion. Total staff costs were £40.8m – almost equivalent to the club's entire turnover for the season
RTID, our pro-active club having seen these write offs early on, have by-passed PL & Championship players and costs, with an eye for League 1 & 2 youngsters. They should mature by the time were six foot under.
I'm sure we still have some high salary players on the staff, who will slowly be removed and improve staffing costs. There's no doubt we are a club that can earn additional revenue from player sales, but we require a very astute management team to balance that equation ( ) - and we haven't been that great so far in our player purchases.
SW, l get the impression that any half decent player we establish will be sold off ...... so much for our aspirations.
