I wonder how much of that is down to his being banned from playing in competitive matches for three years when FIFA discovered Barca broke a boatload of rules to sign him The thing is, most of the other top performers in the K-League are past 30 and any younger talent breaking through tend to be picked up by Bundesliga scouts, gioven Bundesliga clubs regularly have scouts in Japan and South Korea Long story short, the only realistic targets for us in the K-League are those in the Korean national team who are in the 21-24 age bracket, and while there's a few players who fit that criteria...well, we can watch Korea matches to scout them
According to the Daily Wail, not only has fast - one of our sponsors, specifically Official One-Click Payment Partner - gone bust, but they didn't pay us a cent after we signed the contract with them in January In other words, Tanguy, you best hope next season's loaner will be covering a chunk of your wages...
A lot of guys I work with are Rangers fans so even though it’s a friendly, Spurs can’t lose. I’m definitely going to try and get tickets for it as should be a decent game
"Let's bring in Peter Walton to agree with whatever the ref's given." It's offside. Not really much to debate, Jon.
In that tie and the next, we went from the despair of losing to the ecstasy of winning in just a few seconds. There was no mid-point or equaliser. No penalty shoot out, just exiting the biggest competition in football suddenly transformed into stunning victory within minutes of the end of the tie. The fact that we played so damned badly in the PL at that time just made the whole thing even more incredible. What a ride!
I'll never forget this moment, more than anything because I didn't even see it I was forced to work late that night which already put me in a bad mood, I managed to set up a bunch of tasks and watch the game on my phone. As soon as Sterling scored I threw the phone across the room in disgust and smashed the screen on the corner of a desk, cursing Eriksen's stupidity as I did it. I calmed down, grabbed my phone and headed home. Turned on the radio on the way back to find out we'd won! Magnificent, just magnificent. And kudos to that Turkish ref and the VAR team for getting two really big calls absolutely spot on. Just goes to show: with a sprinkling of confidence and competence, the system works. Sadly both qualities are in frightfully short supply in the PL.
Cüneyt Çakir. Yes, I did copy and paste that! He was also the ref when we beat Real at Wembley. Had some mixed results with him in charge, but he's generally good.
I was thinking about foreign refs and VAR earlier on today before I read this. I remember distinctly the check on Llorente's goal and the ref going over to check it. The ref to his credit decided there was nothing to see and gave the goal. An English ref I'm sure, having been told to go to the monitor, would assume "there is something to see" so would have disallowed it. [Do I need to add that would of course depend on which teams were involved.]
Just a reminder to any season ticket holders that you've got until 5pm tomorrow to renew. I assume that most people have either done it or decided not to, but I thought I'd post anyway.
Oh no, another round of "I'll wait to the last minute JUST LIKE LEVY" so-called jokes are about to hit Twitter...
